Arrival time and helpful info

Thank you for booking your 12 hour EXTREME fishing trip with us at Hubbard's Marina. The boat leaves promptly at five am so please arrive 45 minutes to one hour prior to your trip's departure time! This will allow ample time to unload your gear and anything going onto the boat into the waiting area in front of our office. Then you can head into the office to check in and get your boarding pass. Finally, after settling in the waiting area, we offer a pre-boarding seminar to cover all the details of the trip, boarding processes, and policies regarding the trip.

Where To Park

When you arrive one hour prior to your departure time, we recommend and strongly encourage you to park in the parking garage across the street from our office. We don't own or manage the garage, but we do have a deal with them that allows you HIGHLY DISCOUNTED parking! Instead of $30 per day to park its only $7 all day parking inside the garage. Unfortunately there is no free parking in or around Johns Pass most of the time its by a meter with a 3 hour max time and they are $1 to $1.50 every half hour so the $7 all day parking we worked out with the large parking structure across the street directly in front of our office is the best parking idea hands down when you are out on the water with us especially if you plan to spend some time around the Pass before or after your trip with us!

When you pull into the garage, the machine will spit out a ticket that ticket should be brought into our office when you are checking in and collecting your boarding passes for your trip with us. Let us know you parked in the garage and you would like to take advantage of the $7 all day parking deal.
The reservations team will then add the $7 parking fee onto your booking total and we will issue you the special parking voucher sticker and help ensure its on the right spot on your parking ticket that you got as you entered the garage.
Once checked in and you got that special sticker... we recommend you walk it back to your vehicle and place it on your dashboard so it doesn't get misplaced or lost. We don't own or manage the garage and they are not as nice as we are so we want to make sure your parking is done properly, you get the full discount and you don't get any more charges!

As long as you don't loose your ticket with that special $7 sticker at the end of your visit that day, when leaving the garage you will pull up to the exit gate and feed that ticket you got as you entered the garage with your special sticker on it into the machine and the gate opens and you are HOME FREE!

Oversized Vehicles:
You will need to obtain a special parking pass for your vehicle from the front counter to take advantage of the $7 parking voucher. Please park your vehicle in the shell lot located caddy corner from the marina and directly next to the Yogurt City building. As you check in, please let the reservationist know you have an oversized vehicle in the shell lot so they can give you the proper voucher needed for your discount.

What To Bring

On this charter you can bring your own food and drink items onboard and you can place it all in our cooler or bring your own. We strongly recommend bringing some rain gear or a rain coat or at the least a poncho because occasionally you can have a wet ride if the wind or waves pick up on this fast boat, or if it was to sprinkle or rain. Also, Please watch this 'How to pack for a 12 hour extreme' video to help you be ready for a great day on the water! Also, Closed toe shoes (anything else at your own risk). Finally, make sure to check FAQs page below for helpful info on what NOT to bring.

MAKE SURE TO BRING A VENTING TOOL, or be prepared to purchase a nice one in our shop or we will supply a heavily used one on the dock before leaving. However, you CANNOT board our boat without a venting tool on these long range trips! We do sell nice ones in our shop or you will be provided a used one on the dock prior to boarding. ALSO, make sure to review this link in depth if you are not familiar with how to vent a fish. We will also review this information in our fishing seminar on the way offshore and during the trip the crew will come around to ensure everyone is venting fish appropriately.

What you CAN’T bring on the boat

This is a private charter boat that does NOT have an alcohol license, you can bring your own beer on this boat NO LIQUOR however

Tackle

This is like a 39 hour overnight fishing trip because were fishing similar areas but it offers less fishing time so were focused on catching the big boys. You want to bring the big tackle like 6ot reel with 80lb test, 6-8oz leads and 7-8ot hooks. Also, a bigger 9ot reel with 100lb test and maybe even 125lb leader with 8oz lead and 10ot hooks would be great for the truly monster amberjack and big gags. We STRONGLY discourage spinning rods of any size as this is a deep water trip for monster fish. You can bring a spinning rod for pitch baiting or flat line fishing however, but keep in mind that less is more on this special trip.

Catch

Trophy sized gag grouper, Amberjack, red grouper, scamp grouper, mangrove snapper, yellowtail snapper, and vermillion snapper. Keep in mind there are seasons on some of these species so check out the fishing regulations page to see whats open.

Bait

Cut squid and threadfins are provided on board at no extra charge. Pinfish do work well but it's simply and extra option. You don't NEED it, but it does work well some days better than others. Live pinfish work well for the big grouper, amberjack and red snapper. Live shrimp is NOT recommended for this trip

pinfish must be ordered 48 hours in advanced or more ($11 per dozen)
and a Communal live well available on board.

We recommend 2-3 doz pinfish per angler if you so choose
