Arrival time and helpful info
Thank you for booking your 12 hour night snapper fishing trip with us at Hubbard's Marina. The boat leaves promptly so please arrive 45 minutes to one hour prior to 7pm which is your trip's departure time! This will allow ample time to unload your gear and anything going onto the boat into the waiting area in front of our office. Then you can head into the office to check in and get your boarding pass. Finally, after settling in the waiting area, we offer a pre-boarding seminar to cover all the details of the trip, boarding processes, and policies regarding the trip.
Also, there is a galley on board the boat so once you board the boat we will have the hot coffee, cold beer, and cheeseburgers ready if you're ready to eat!

Where To Park
When you arrive one hour prior to your departure time, we recommend and strongly encourage you to park in the parking garage across the street from our office. We don't own or manage the garage, but we do have a deal with them that allows you HIGHLY DISCOUNTED parking! Instead of $30 per day to park its only $7 all day parking inside the garage. Unfortunately there is no free parking in or around Johns Pass most of the time its by a meter with a 3 hour max time and they are $1 to $1.50 every half hour so the $7 all day parking we worked out with the large parking structure across the street directly in front of our office is the best parking idea hands down when you are out on the water with us especially if you plan to spend some time around the Pass before or after your trip with us!
When you pull into the garage, the machine will spit out a ticket that ticket should be brought into our office when you are checking in and collecting your boarding passes for your trip with us. Let us know you parked in the garage and you would like to take advantage of the $7 all day parking deal.
The reservations team will then add the $7 parking fee onto your booking total and we will issue you the special parking voucher sticker and help ensure its on the right spot on your parking ticket that you got as you entered the garage.
Once checked in and you got that special sticker... we recommend you walk it back to your vehicle and place it on your dashboard so it doesn't get misplaced or lost. We don't own or manage the garage and they are not as nice as we are so we want to make sure your parking is done properly, you get the full discount and you don't get any more charges!
As long as you don't loose your ticket with that special $7 sticker at the end of your visit that day, when leaving the garage you will pull up to the exit gate and feed that ticket you got as you entered the garage with your special sticker on it into the machine and the gate opens and you are HOME FREE!
Oversized Vehicles:
You will need to obtain a special parking pass for your vehicle from the front counter to take advantage of the $7 parking voucher. Please park your vehicle in the shell lot located caddy corner from the marina and directly next to the Yogurt City building. As you check in, please let the reservationist know you have an oversized vehicle in the shell lot so they can give you the proper voucher needed for your discount.

Tackle
For snapper species, we would recommend a high speed or two speed reel with 40-50lb test line, 4oz sinker and 4/0 to 5/0 hook. In addition to this, you could bring a 5000 series spinning reel for when the bite slows down or you want to use shrimp. We would use 20lb main line and 30-40lb leader with the spinning combo. for lead sizes on the spinners 3/4-1 ounce lead work well with 4/0 hooks. For the grouper we would recommend 60 to 80lb test line, 6oz sinker and 7/0 hook.

Any purchase can be set to be picked up in store on your fishing trip day!
Catch
On this special trip we target primarily mangrove snapper, however, during gag season you do have a slight chance at some of them. We will also see plenty of vermillion, porgies, yellowtail, and possibly some seabass. Red grouper and hogfish do not bite well at night however so that would be a rarity.
Keep in mind mangrove snapper are the quickest biting super smart snapper that take lots of experience to dial in on. We would strongly recommend you check out the fishing tips to see what Capt. Dylan Hubbard recommends for mangrove snapper. Also, be sure to watch the How to tie a double snell video because that rig will help you catch TONS more mangrove snapper.
Bait
Cut squid and threadfins are provided on board at no extra charge. Live shrimp and live pinfish do work well but it's simply and extra option. You don't NEED it, but it does work well some nights better than others. Live pinfish work well for the grouper and big mangroves. Live shrimp works VERY well for the mangroves and other snapper species. We will cover it more in depth in your pre-boarding seminar before the trip and you can purchase it prior to the departure of your trip after the seminar before boarding if you so choose.
pinfish must be ordered 48 hours in advanced or more ($11 per dozen)
Live shrimp can be purchased the day of, or ahead of time either way ($10 for two doz in a bait bucket, $20 for five doz in a bait bucket)
Communal live well available on board.
We recommend 1 doz pinfish per angler if you so choose
We recommend 2-5 doz shrimp per angler if you so choose
