Paddleboarding is fun and suitable for people of all ages and abilities. Rentals ok for beginners too! We’ll give you a lesson before you leave the dock and send you on your way to explore wherever you’d like to go! We'll provide a map of the area and point out some good paddle spots. You’ll explore the mangrove creeks and sea grass beds between Stock Island and Key West.
The waters accessible from Lazy Dog are home to fish, birds, coral, mangroves and a whole lot more! We often see manatees right in our marina.
What to Bring
- Wear bathing suit or anything you don’t mind getting wet
- If sensitive to sun, bring a hat and long sleeves
- Sunscreen (we sell reef safe)
- Water (we sell bottled water)
Know Before You Go:
- A paddleboard rental is suitable for paddlers of all levels (lesson is included)
- Not recommended for folks with back, shoulder, knee issues. Should be in good physical condition to paddle
- All guests must know how to swim
- Dogs welcome!

Check-in Info
- Check-in is 15 mins before your reservation. If you're going to be late, you must call us at 305-295-9898 (please call not text or email) otherwise you'll be considered a no show and there will be no refunds.
- Check-in is at Lazy Dog at Hurricane Hole Marina just past Mile Marker 4 on US 1 North. There's free parking!
Additional Notes
- Tips for staff with cash or credit card greatly appreciated
- You're welcome to leave anything that can't get wet with us at the Paddle Shack. There is no dry storage in kayaks or on boards
- Rest rooms are available on site
- Outdoor freshwater shower available
- Lazy Dog is not responsible for any items left with us, left behind, lost or stolen
Cancellation Policy
Look, we understand the bars are open until 4 am. All we ask is that you give us 12 hours* cancellation for full refund if you feel you'll suddenly become "ill" the next day so that we may give your spot to someone else. Or come anyway! sweat it out then some hair of the dog at the dock side bar!
*Please note that Eco Boat Adventure requires 24 hours due to limited availability
As far as the weather, don't believe the hype. 80% chance of rain usually means it'll be a passing shower at some point and usually overnight. We only cancel the tour if there is lightning in the area
If it's windy, we can usually hide. We'll for sure give you a warning if we think you'll have an issue. Please heed the warning as we know what we're talking about and we just want you to have the best possible vacation experience.
