Diving & Altitude:
The following guidelines are the consensus of attendees at the 2002 Flying After Diving Workshop. They apply to air dives followed by flights at cabin altitudes of 2,000 to 8,000 feet (610 to 2,438 meters) for divers who do not have symptoms of decompression sickness (DCS). The recommended preflight surface intervals do not guarantee avoidance of DCS. Longer surface intervals will reduce DCS risk further.
For a single no-decompression dive, a minimum preflight surface interval of 12 hours is suggested.
For multiple dives per day or multiple days of diving, a minimum preflight surface interval of 18 hours is suggested.
Keep in mind that many of the roads around the island exceed 2,000ft. It is the diver's responsibility to know the altitude of their accommodations and the routes to get there.

Tips
-
Transportation is not included. Be on time. Do not underestimate driving time. Morning traffic conditions are quite congested and slow moving, especially if you are staying South of Kailua-Kona and driving North to the harbor. It is your responsibility to arrive on time and we reserve the right to leave at our scheduled departure time
-
You must be able to present your dive card prior to boarding the vessel - physical or ecard. It is your responsibility to show proof of certification. If you do not have your certification card and cannot provide proof of being certified we will not take you diving and no refund will be issued.
-
If it has been more than 2 years since your last dive, we require you to take a refresher course. If it has been more than 5 years we require a PADI ReActivate. If it has been more than 10 years, we require you to take the open water course again. This is for YOUR safety! Falsifying this information can lead to serious injury or death.
-
Wear sun-protective clothing instead of sunscreen. Only mineral sunscreens are permitted aboard our vessels. As lovers of the ocean kindly be stewards of the ocean. If we see you using toxic sunscreen you will be asked to put it away.
-
Bring a reusable water bottle
-
If you are prone to seasickness, we strongly recommend taking Bonine!
-
Please contact us before your charter if you have special diving needs so that we can best accommodate you. We are unable to accommodate sidemount diving at this time.
-
If there are certain dive sites you have your heart set on we recommend private chartering the Honu Lele.
-
We reserve the right to refuse service, with no refund, if you have booked and have ignored our expected safety standards outlined on our website and during the reservation process.
-
We reserve the right to refuse service if we feel it is unsafe for you to participate in this activity for any reason.
-
We reserve the right to cancel your dives if you are not respectful of the safety guidelines, the reef, and wildlife.
Manta Guarantee
Please note that the Manta Rays are wild animals and we cannot guarantee their presence. If you do not see a manta on your night out, you can go again on another night on a space-available standby basis for free. Keep in mind that standby spaces may be extremely limited, especially during the busiest times of the year. This offer never expires, but is non-transferable and has no refund or cash value. For standby spots, rental gear is not included and you will still have to meet our diver requirements. We are typically very successful in finding mantas for you; however, if they are not around, the costs involved with setting up the dive and getting all our guests to the location will not allow for us to offer you a refund. Want guaranteed space? We offer 25% off confirmed space instead of space-available standby for those that didn't get to see mantas on the first go.
We highly recommend each diver carry dive insurance.

Please be informed of our cancellation policy.
Full payment is due at the time of booking. Since we do not overbook our boats and specialize in small groups we enforce a 72-hour cancellation policy. Lateness and no-shows
We ask all guests to arrive promptly at the scheduled charter time. Do not underestimate driving time. Morning traffic conditions are quite congested and slow moving, especially if you are staying South of Kailua-Kona and driving North to the harbor. It is your responsibility to arrive on time and we reserve the right to leave at our scheduled departure time (15 minutes after scheduled charter start time). There will be no refunds given for guests that are more than 15 minutes late or that do not arrive for their intended charter.
Trip Protection
Purchase trip protection for an additional 10% of your trip. It allows you to cancel, no questions asked, inside of the 72-hour cancellation policy. You’ll be refunded in full (minus the booking and insurance fees). No shows and late arrivals will not be reimbursed. Trip protection may not be added within the 72 hour window. Trip protection is not available to students
What if we cancel?
We reserve the right to cancel for any reason including, but not limited to weather, ocean conditions, passenger count, mechanical issues, safety for you, our guests, and our crew. We'll do our best to reschedule your trip based on availability or you'll be issued a refund in full. We will contact you via the phone number and/or email address provided in the reservation. We are not responsible if we can not contact you for important information regarding the charter.
