Additional Info
Arrival time and helpful info
Thank you for booking your 39 hour overnight fishing trip with us at Hubbard's Marina. The boat leaves promptly at three pm so please arrive two hours prior to your trip's departure time! This will allow ample time to unload your gear and anything going onto the boat into the waiting area in front of our office. Then you can head into the office to check in and get your boarding pass. Finally, after settling in the waiting area, we offer a pre-boarding seminar to cover all the details of the trip, boarding processes, and policies regarding the trip.
Also, there is a galley on board the boat so once you board the boat we will have the hot coffee, cold beer, and hot food ready if you're ready to eat!

Where To Park
When you arrive two hours prior to your departure time, we recommend and strongly encourage you to pull up in front of our waiting area and unload your vehicle. Once unloaded we will point you to either the parking garage if your vehicle is under 6'7" or the sand lot adjacent to the garage if your vehicle is taller than that.
IF YOU PARK IN THE GARAGE:
There should be an attendant in the booth about two hours prior to the departure time, you will tell them you are parking for the 39 hour trip and they will charge you $14 ($7 all day parking per day when on a trip with us) for a parking sticker they will place on the little ticket that printed out as you are trying to enter the garage. If you do not pay the $14 and get that special ticket it will be $60 after your trip when you are trying to exit the garage (normal $30 per day).
If you arrive early for the trip and the attendant isn't at the booth yet, just pull the ticket and continue up into the garage and find a spot. Once parked make sure to place that ticket on your dashboard and then check back in with the garage booth starting 2 hours prior to depature when someone will show up to sell those special $14 parking voucher stickers. Bring them your ticket and they will place your sticker for you so you can exit the garage after your trip.
Once you buy the sticker, again I HIGHLY and STRONGLY recommend you walk that ticket with the sticker on it back to your vehicle and place it on your dashboard. This will ensure when you get back after two days on the water you will for sure see it and it wont be lost, bent, wet or torn after a long trip.
When you are leaving the garage after the trip, all you have to do is feed that ticket with the special $14 sticker on it into the machine at the exit the garage and the gate will open and you will be home free!
OVERSIZED VEHICLES
If you have a large or tall vehicle and you can't go into the garage the parking garage people want you in their sand lot right next to the garage caddy corner to our office in front of the restaurant next door. You will park there and then when the attendant arrives in the garage booth two hours prior to your trip's departure you can walk to the booth at the entrance to the garage and tell them what trip you are on and that you need to pay $14 to get the voucher to display on your dash. Once you pay the $7 per day parking fee you can then take their $14 voucher back to your vehicle and clearly display it on your dashboard. This will avoid you getting a $50 ticket or your vehicle being towed away.
What To Bring
This is a long range advanced angler trip. You will want to bring two to three changes of clothes for the trip. You want to pack like you're going camping so bring a sleeping bag, pillow and maybe a sheet to sleep with on your assigned bunk. We do have a shower on board and many like to take a shower after fishing before going to sleep on the way home so make sure you have stuff to shower with like soap, towel and toothbrush and toothpaste. We do recommend some shower sandals too. If you got one bring a small 6-12 pack cooler and a big thing of salt to brine your dead bait on the way offshore. If you're not renting a rod make sure to bring your own tackle for the trip as well. Also, Closed toe shoes, we recommend fishing boots as the best footwear (anything else at your own risk). Cash if you want to buy food or drink from galley if you don't have meal plan and to join the jackpot for largest fish. Finally, make sure to check FAQs page below for helpful info on what NOT to bring.
MAKE SURE TO BRING A VENTING TOOL, or be prepared to purchase a nice one in our shop or we will supply a heavily used one on the dock before leaving. However, you CANNOT board our boat without a venting tool on these long range trips! We do sell nice ones in our shop or you will be provided a used one on the dock prior to boarding. ALSO, make sure to review this link in depth if you are not familiar with how to vent a fish. We will also review this information in our fishing seminar on the way offshore and during the trip the crew will come around to ensure everyone is venting fish appropriately.

Tackle
For all your Tackle needs please visit our store: HERE
Any purchase can be set to be picked up in store on your fishing trip day!
You want to bring 3-5 rods:
For mangrove snapper, porgies, vermillion and yellowtails we would recommend a high speed reel or two speed reel with 40-50lb test, 4oz lead, and 6ot double snelled hooks. If you don't know how to tie a double snell knot, check out this video: How to tie double snell rig
For red grouper, red snapper and average gags a 6ot reel with 60-80lb test, 6-8oz leads and 7-8ot hooks.
For big gags and Amberjack we recommend a bigger 9ot reel with 100lb test and maybe even 125lb leader with 8oz lead and 10ot hooks would be great
If you want to troll on the way out, we recommend using at least a 9ot reel or a two speed 50-80 wide and for more info on trolling recommendation check out the FAQs page.
Spinning rods are not recommended for bottom fishing, but you can use them for knocker rig fishing, flat line fishing or pitch bait fishing. We would recommend 5000-8000 size reels and 50lb test line.
Catch
Gag grouper, Red grouper, Scamp grouper, Amberjack, Red snapper, Mangrove snapper, Mutton snapper, Cubera snapper, Hogfish, King mackerel, Mahi, wahoo and even blackfin tuna. Keep in mind there are seasons on some of these species so check out the fishing regulations page to see whats open.
Bait
Cut squid and threadfins are provided on board at no extra charge. Pinfish do work well but it's simply and extra option. You don't NEED it, but it does work well some days better than others. Live pinfish work well for the big grouper, amberjack, red snapper and big mangroves. Live shrimp is not needed on this trip but if the bite slows using it on your light tackle sometimes does help get you mangrove snapper, yellowtail and other smaller species to bite.
pinfish must be ordered 48 hours in advanced or more ($11 per dozen)
Live shrimp can be purchased ahead of time of the day of the trip. ($10 for two doz in a bait bucket, $20 for five doz in a bait bucket)
Each angler has their own personal live well that is the same number as their spot number.
We recommend 3-4 doz pinfish per angler if you so choose
We would recommend 2-5 doz live shrimp per angler if you so choose
