Additional Info
Hello and thank you so much for booking a ride with Biplane Rides Over Atlanta!
To be prepared for a successfully seamless experience, please take note of the following requirements:
1- It is REQUIRED that you check-in the evening prior to your scheduled flight date. At this time, we will make a go/no-go decision based on weather forecast for the following day as well as any other factors that could cause a flight delay (ie. staffing challenges or unplanned maintenance events). To check-in, just call (or preferably text) this number. At check-in, include the full name under which the reservation was booked, as well as the date and time of your reservation.
2- If flying in the open-cockpit biplane, please ensure that each passenger with long hair has a hair tie. The wind will cause long hair to get knotted up pretty badly, so all long hair needs to be in a tight bun at the time of flight.
3- Dress for the weather. We depart from an elevation of 1,000’ above sea level, and cruise at 2,500’ above sea level. This means we will be 1,500’ above ground. The temperatures at that altitude typically are only 2-4 degrees cooler than on the ground, if that.
4- No open-toed shoes are permitted. No high-heel shoes are permitted. You will be stepping onto the wing of the airplane to board and deplane, and we need you to wear shoes with a stable sole to prevent rolling an ankle or slipping.
5- The busyness of our daily schedule can vary. Some days we have 10 flights back to back, other days we only have 1 or 2 flights. We expect to have a very busy summer. Therefore, we need to run a tight schedule. To avoid rolling delays, each flight must depart on-time. If you happen to be running late, then communication about that is extremely important. We will do our best to work around delays, and strive to fulfill your flight in case you are running behind. Just send a text about any delays to 702-496-8296.
6- Tuesday thru Saturday 10am-10:30pm, as well as Sunday 10am-3pm: Flights operate off the back patio of the 57th Fighter Group Restaurant in Chamblee. Address: 3829 Clairmont Rd, 30341. This is a WWII-themed restaurant which sits on airport property. You will park your car in the restaurant parking lot (no charge for parking), and walk on the sidewalk from the left side of the parking lot, around the left perimeter of the restaurant, which takes you directly to the back patio area. The back patio faces the taxiway, and we park our aircraft just between the taxiway and the restaurant patio. Your pilot will meet you there, and will escort you through the gate.
7- If you are planning on dining at the 57th, please set your reservation for a minimum of 1.5 hours prior to your flight appointment. We want to ensure that you have enough time to enjoy your meal at a non-hurried pace, while still ensuring that you will make your scheduled flight time punctually. Please note, we always recommend that you eat after your flight, assuming your flight departs early enough to allow for that prior to the kitchen closing. Please check out the restaurant’s website to make reservations or make any inquiries regarding hours of operation. https://www.the57threstaurant.com
8- On Sundays after 3pm, and on Mondays, the restaurant is closed. Therefore, any flights during those times will depart from Epps Aviation, address: 1 Aviation Way, Chamblee, GA. Please enter the lobby at Epps and, if asked, let the receptionist know that you are there to fly with Victorino.
9- If you have booked a flight in our Piper Cherokee, then a weight and balance calculation must be conducted by your pilot. It is IMPERATIVE that you are honest about the weight of each passenger, as of the date of flight and soaking wet/fully clothed. Sure almost all of us can say we weighed 10-100lbs less back in college, but that type of fibbing won’t help us the day of our flight. The aircraft has weight and balance limitations and they can not be exceeded, for safety reasons.
10- Tips are never expected yet always appreciated. Our commitment to you is a SAFE and POSITIVE customer service experience. Should you feel your pilot did a great job in meeting or exceeding your expectations, we gladly accept Venmo, Cashapp, or cash.
Again thank you so much for booking with Biplane Rides Over Atlanta! We are humbled by your choosing us for your special occasion to fly over the various Atlanta landmarks, and we are very much looking forward to flying with you.
All the Best,
Victorino-and the rest of the team.
