Moving While Shooting
Duration
2 Hours
About
- This is an intensive training session to work on the fundamental of Hold Control: keeping the pistol on target while moving forward, backward, and to either side. While getting to cover is important, hitting your target on the way there is more expedient. This will not be a running course, but learning to isolate the movement of your legs from effecting the stillness of your upper body.
- Never stand still in a fight. Learn how to move and shoot.
What to Bring
- All participants will need a at least three magazines and 300 rounds of ammo. Most drills will include firing all rounds in the magazine while moving. (Magazine capacity is NOT restricted!) All handguns will start in a holster.
- No cross-draw or shoulder holsters are permitted. Concealment garments are not required nor are they prohibited.

Additional Info
We look forward to seeing you!
We will start at 7:00 p.m. but please arrive early for the range safety brief.
As the name implies, this is not a beginning course. You will need to be proficient with your handgun, be able to perform basic pistol marksmanship, and be comfortable working from a holster.
This is a movement course, so you will need to be able to ambulate. You won't be running, but walking quickly while firing your pistol.
You should bring at least 400 rounds of ammunition (no aluminum or steel cased or steel-cored ammo) and at least three magazines. Those who want to work from concealment may do so.
The class is scheduled to end by 9 p.m.
I look forward to training with you!
