Additional Info

Hello!

This is Alex from Discover Richmond Tours, and I'm so glad you'll be touring Richmond's Arts District with us! Below are some helpful tips for tour day:

Things To Know:

  • Please wear comfortable shoes - we'll be doing some walking (~1.5 miles in total), and we won't necessarily sit at each stop.
  • Bring a bottle of water, especially during the summer. It gets hot in Richmond! Water will be offered at many of our stops, but we'll be outside a bit as well.
  • Gratuities for your tour guide are never required, but definitely appreciated.
  • Come ready to have fun!

Weather

We tour rain or shine! If the forecast calls for rain, we suggest an umbrella an a positive attitude, and we promise the food we'll try will be as delicious as ever. In the event of dangerous weather, we will reschedule our tour.

Where to Park

While there is no parking immediately in front of our meeting location, here are a few places you might be able to find a spot nearby for ~$2/hour:

  • On Grace St, west of 4th St.
  • On Franklin St (runs parallel to Grace St., one block south)
  • On 3rd St. or 4th St. between Broad St. and Franklin St.

If you'd rather not use on-street parking, you'll need to park in a lot or garage. Lots 21, 22, 26, and 27 on this map require walking a few blocks, but are conveniently located about halfway in between our first and last stop: https://www.pshs.virginia.gov/media/governorvirginiagov/secretary-of-public-safety-and-homeland-security/pdf/RIC_Parking.pdf

Alternatively, you may take Richmond's Bus Rapid Transit line (called The Pulse) to the Convention Center stop, which will drop you off just two blocks from our meeting location.

Planning Your Trip:

I want you to know that we are happy to help you plan your trip to Richmond beyond your tour. You're more than welcome to reply to this email asking for tips on anything from where else to eat and drink, what to see, and which activities you should try. Or you can check out our Richmond Guide, which has all sorts of articles on Richmond's best restaurants, neighborhoods, and events. Find that here: http://www.discoverrichmondtours.com/richmond-va-city-guide/

We can't wait to meet you!
