Description: Join the Bio Bay & Rainforest Combo Tour for a full day of adventure in Puerto Rico. Begin with a guided hike through the lush El Yunque Rainforest, where you'll swim in natural pools and enjoy stunning waterfalls. In the evening, experience the magic of the bioluminescent waters of Fajardo’s Bio Bay as you kayak through mangroves at sunset. Check in Details: Ensure you are at the designated pick-up location on time for transport to the excursion. There is a 15-minute wait period for pick-ups, so please be punctual.

Special Requirements: - Maximum weight Limit: 240 lbs per person and up to 425 lbs per two-person kayak.
- Participants must be in good physical condition and comfortable with dark environments.

Restrictions: - Guests with neck, back, or heart conditions, epilepsy, or recent surgeries cannot participate.
- Not suitable for guests who are pregnant or have recent surgeries.
- Not recommended for individuals prone to panic attacks.

Faqs: - What should I wear?
- Wear comfortable hiking clothes and closed-toe shoes that can get wet. Bring a towel and change of clothes for after the tour.

  • Yes, but make sure it is in a waterproof pouch as everything you bring will get wet.

  • What if it rains?

  • Tours are rain or shine, but if weather conditions are unsafe, KPR will cancel and offer alternatives or a refund.

Restrictions

Any reserved guests who do not meet the requirements on the day of the excursion will not be allowed to participate. There are no refunds or credits due to not complying with the safety restrictions shared on the website, booking site, waivers, and in this confirmation.

The difficulty level of this excursion is considered moderate to strenuous depending on your physical fitness level. You must be in good physical condition to participate and enjoy yourself. The terrain in the rainforest can be muddy, slippery, uneven, and include river-wading, climbing large rocks and steep inclines. The kayaking can be strenuous when the current is strong and requires upper body strength. This excursion is recommended for guests with an active lifestyle. It is a long, but fun-filled day!

The following guests cannot participate:
• Guests with neck, back, arm or leg problems or casts. This is not wheelchair accessible.
• Guests with recent surgeries
• Pregnant women
• Guests who have epilepsy, heart conditions and/or dizziness

Maximum weight: 240 pounds per person • up to 425 pounds per 2-person kayak • No participants can weigh above 240 pounds regardless of the total weight meeting 425 pounds. For Safety, a scale will be used during check-in.
Age: Minimum age is 8 years old, Maximum age is 70 years old.
All guests must be able to communicate in English or Spanish.
Participants must be comfortable with dark environments.
Not recommended for guests who may be prone to panic.
Guests who show signs of intoxication by drugs or alcohol will not be allowed to participate.

Please remember that it is your responsibility to share this information with the rest of your group and to notify us ahead of time with any concerns about your health or physical condition for the excursion.

SATURDAY TOUR DETAILS: Saturday’s tour is longer (approximately 1 additional hour) and more strenuous than Sunday – Friday. It’s very important that you are able to comply with all of the tour restrictions, have a strong physical fitness level and are able to bring your knees up to your chest.

What to Wear & Bring

Items can be left in vehicle during Rainforest and Bio Bay Tours

  • Cell phone (in the event that we need to contact you or you need to contact us prior to the excursion)
  • Closed-toe shoes that can get wet/dirty, have good grip for hiking on wet surfaces, and provide comfort and support (no sandals, water shoes, or flip flops)
  • Comfortable hiking clothes that can get completely wet/dirty
  • Bathing suit (already on)
  • Towel and change of clothes for both tours
  • Water bottle to refill throughout the day (provided if you do not have one)
  • Money for dinner
  • If you would like to take your cell phone or camera on the excursion for photos, make sure it is waterproof or bring a ziplock bag to store it in
  • DO NOT BRING ANY VALUABLES OR ITEMS THAT CANNOT GET WET – lost items are very hard to find in the water, and anything you take with you will get wet!

Dinner Note: It is important that you eat a good breakfast prior to your pick-up. Dinner will be around 4:00 pm. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided on both the Rainforest and Bio Bay tour.

Participation Minimum

This excursion requires a minimum of at least eight guests requesting in order to provide the tour. In the event this minimum is not met, we will call one or two days prior to the excursion to go over alternative options (i.e. reschedule for a different date or time that has the minimum requirement, payment options for a private excursion, or cancel without penalty).

Very important: Please allow a 15-minute maximum wait period for your pick-up. If for any reason you are delayed, please contact Island Journeys' main office at 787-978-8080. No-shows or cancellations made on the same day of the excursion will receive full charge.

Cancellation Policy

STANDARD POLICY
We have a 48-hour cancellation policy for all of our excursions. Up until 48 hours before check-in time, you may change your reservation or cancel it for a full refund. Cancellations made in less than 48 hours before check-in time, late arrivals, and “no-shows” will maintain a full charge. All cancellations must be made directly with Kayaking Puerto Rico by telephone or email.

This policy also applies to cruise ship passengers and guests flying to Puerto Rico.

GROUPS OF 10 OR MORE GUESTS
Groups of 10 or more guests must cancel at least 2 weeks before the date of the excursion to receive a full refund. Cancellations of groups made in less than 2 weeks before the excursion date will maintain a full charge on any spaces we are unable to resell. Guests who are no-shows or late arrivals will receive the full charge.

WEATHER CANCELLATIONS
If we are forced to cancel a tour due to weather conditions, we will offer you the solution that best fits your needs and upon availability, including rescheduling to another date, booking another tour, or full refund. That said, be aware that we are the ones that determine cancellations due to weather conditions. Please do not make the mistake of deciding not to attend because you think the weather might not be acceptable, as you will still be charged if the excursion goes out. If you ever have a question about the weather conditions, please call us to confirm.

If we need to cancel an excursion due to weather conditions we will call to notify you as soon as possible, however please note that due to the sometimes unpredictable weather in the Caribbean, cancellations may be done the same day on site.

FINAL NOTE
Due to the unique nature and small size of our groups, we are forced to remain firm about our cancellation policy. Consider that on the day of your excursion we will be there, on site, waiting, and ready to serve you. Regardless of the cancellation reason, our time and fixed costs are already invested; we may even have turned down other customers by holding your space. Thank you for understanding!
