About Northern Lights
A Coast Guard Certified Captains and extremely friendly and knowledgeable crew who are trained to help in the event of an emergency operate Northern Lights. The motor yacht Northern Lights is stylized after the classic New England 1920s style steamships. She is one of the most comfortable and versatile cruise vessels in Boston Harbor. Northern Lights is 115-feet in length, features six bathrooms, and provides ample seating throughout the ship for up to 149 passengers. She is built for taking groups of people on spectacular sightseeing adventures. Thus, she is excellent for taking out groups of friends and family to see the harbor. Sit back and relax in our climate-controlled (heating and air conditioning) cabin or enjoy the sea breeze on our open top deck. Be sure to visit our fully stocked bar on the main deck to purchase refreshments.

Important Check-In Information:
This is not your ticket; this is just confirmation of a place for you aboard. Upon arrival, on the date of your event, you must go to our ticket counter to check-in (located in the ferry terminal at 60 Rowes Wharf) to get your boarding passes and obtain your pre-purchased items such as hats or wine vouchers. Additionally, Please be sure to bring valid identification with you at check-in for purchase verification.
What to Wear
Wear comfortable, weather appropriate, clothing. Light layers are recommended in the summer time and warmer layers in the spring and fall. We advise wearing flat shoes, as these are best for walking around the boat.
What to Bring
Comfortable weather appropriate clothing such as: sunscreen and sunglasses on warm sunny days and jackets and hats for cooler weather days.
We are Credit Card only aboard all of our boats. If you would like to purchase drinks or small snacks aboard the ship during your cruise, please remember to bring your credit card.
What Not to Bring
Please do not bring coolers. There is not enough space available aboard the vessel to store large items.
Please do not bring your own alcohol-you will be able to purchase beer, wine, and/or champagne while aboard.
Other Tips & Guidelines
Check in 15-30 minutes early at our (shared) booth. We board the boat promptly 15 minutes prior to departure. The vessel leaves on time and cannot come back to pick you up if you are late. No refunds or reschedules will be provided for late arrivals.
If you have any food allergies/dietary needs please contact us before your trip (especially on any food related trips such as: Brunch, Luncheon, Summer BBQ series, etc.). Please note that not all food allergies and dietary requests can be accommodated.
Important Any directions or maps provided by Classic Harbor Line are only a rough guide. You are responsible for arriving at the activity's meeting location on time, so make sure to check with a second source that can provide specific directions from your starting point.
Detailed Directions
Our boats depart from Rowes Wharf, directly behind the Boston Harbor Hotel, located at (for GPS) 400 Atlantic Avenue, Boston (02110). Check-in at Rowes Wharf is located in the Ferry Terminal, a climate controlled public space, located on the wharf only steps away from our dock. If you are lost or running late, please call us at 617-951-2460.
Public Transport
Nearest "T" transit stations are South Station (Red, Purple, and Silver Lines) and Aquarium Station (Blue Line).
Driving
From the South:
- Take Rt. I-93 north to exit 20 for South Station.
- Follow signs to South Station/Downtown.
- Turn right at the end of ramp onto Kneeland Street and turn at the second left onto Atlantic Avenue.
- Continue on Atlantic Avenue for 5 short blocks and the Boston Harbor Hotel and big arch will be on your right.
- A few feet from the big arch is the hotel parking entrance.
From the West:
- Follow the Mass. Pike/Rt. I-90 E to exit 24A for South Station. This will put you on Atlantic Avenue.
- Continue on Atlantic Avenue for 5 short blocks.
- The Boston Harbor Hotel and big arch will be on your right.
- A few feet from the big arch is the hotel parking entrance.
From the North:
- Follow I-93 south to exit 23 / Purchase Street.
- Stay right off the exit onto Purchase Street
- Follow Purchase Street 2 blocks and turn left onto Congress Street.
- Take an immediate left onto Atlantic Avenue
- Follow Atlantic Avenue for 3 blocks and the Boston Harbor Hotel and the big arch will be on your right.
- A few feet from the big arch is the hotel parking entrance.
- Limited metered parking can be found around Rowes Wharf. Regular daily rate at the Boston Harbor Hotel is $42. However, with a validation from Classic Harbor Line it will be $36. After 5PM weekdays and anytime on weekends the rate is $20, but with a validation it will be $14. Please be sure to ask our ticket representative for a validation when you check-in.

An option to reschedule or convert to a gift certificate is available up until 24-hours prior to departure. We are not able to offer refunds. Requests for cancellation, rescheduling, or conversion to gift credit must be sent by email to publicsails@boston-sailing.com.

According to U.S. Coast Guard capacity rules, all passengers including infants and toddlers must have a ticket.
Activity may be canceled due to severe weather
The activity usually runs in light rain and other moderate weather conditions, but the seller may cancel the activity up to an hour before the start time in the event of severe or unsafe weather conditions. If the seller cancels the event, ticket-holders will be allowed to reschedule tickets (subject to availability), receive a credit for a future event, or receive a refund.
Parties of 12 or more will be contacted for an additional gratuity charge of 15%
Classic Harbor Line will contact you directly within 48 hours of your purchase to take your credit card information for the additional charge. You must be reachable at the telephone number and email you provided.
Beverages and Coolers
Outside adult beverage and coolers are not allowed aboard. Please bring valid identification with you. Identification is checked prior to boarding for guests interested in an adult beverage.
