Description: If you are new a new snorkeler this is the ideal choice! Particularly good for families with younger children or swimmers who aren’t certain if they are “seaworthy” enough for one of our longer trips.
This trip is much slower-paced and affords guests time to become more familiar and comfortable with the exciting and beautiful sport of snorkeling. Our crew will be happy to help you adjust your mask, fins, and snorkel and help you become comfortable viewing the tropical fish while using a flotation assistance device we call a “noodle”. You'll even watch for dolphins and whales along the way!
We offer several different times slots to fit your schedule. The times shown indicate the check in time. Tour duration includes time to checkin and receive gear. Snorkel participants must be comfortable swimming.

Itinerary: 1) You'll want to sign your waivers in advance to prevent any delays with your tour.
2) Meet us at our check-in location in the Keauhou Shopping Center, 78-6831 Ali‘i Dr Suite F-146, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740. We are located behind Tropics restaurant.

3) Check-in and receive your snorkeling gear and directions to our meeting spot at Keauhou Bay.
4) Drive 1.4 miles or 5 minutes to Keauhou Bay. Park along the street.
5) Meet our crew at the meeting location.
6) Depart Keauhou Bay to Kealakekua Bay (Captain Cook Monument).
7) Depart to Sea Caves and Lava Tubes.
8) Return to departure point. There is no need to return to the check-in location.
Highlights: This best value tour hits the high notes for marine life viewing in Kona. Join us to see the underwater beauty near Captain Cook's Monument marine park. See over 100 different varieties of tropical fish along with an occasional reef shark or sea turtle. These lively snorkeling spots are home to a variety of marine life.
Your Crew will teach you a little Hawaiian history along the way. As you cruise, you will enjoy spectacular views of Big Island's rugged coastline, along with views of sea caves and lava tubes. If you are lucky, you may spot a pod of dolphins or a whale, which can be found here year-round (humpback whale migration is seasonal!)
Check in Details: Please do not arrive early. The time on your ticket is your check-in time. We have built in the right amount of time to get you checked in and travel to the meeting point.

Special Requirements: -Not near public transportation
-Minors must be accompanied by an adult at all times
-A maximum of 20 people per booking
-Electronic Waiver required to be signed prior to tour
-All participating guests must know how to swim and tread water.
-Snorkeling experience preferred.
-Please arrive no later than your scheduled check in time, as we have important information to review prior to leaving the dock, as well as outfit all guests with the equipment needed for the tour.
-Restroom facilities not available on boat
-This is an open ocean experience at night. Young children may be scared of the dark waters and large animals.
-Children who are frighten and crying will be escorted back aboard with a guardian. No Exceptions
-Transportation NOT provided.
-Snorkel vest provided for children 12 and under. Snorkel vest available to rent for all others.
Restrictions: -Not wheelchair accessible
-Must be able to climb up a metal ladder resting on a pontoon to get back in the boat
-Must be under 285lbs
-If you are unable to swim and would like to remain on the boat, we welcome you. "Ride alongs" are a paid ticket as it is a reserved seat on the boat.
-We have full discretion to refuse service to guests based on attire, behavior, physical fitness & condition.
-Not for pregnant women.
-This tour is not for those with neck or back problems
-This tour is not for those with major medical conditions or heart conditions.
-Guests must be physically and mentally capable of listening to and obeying safety instructions.

Sign our e-waiver upon receipt of this email by clicking the "Sign Waiver" link above. Complete ONE on-line waiver for EACH person in your party. Minors can be included with one parent or guardians waiver. This email can be forwarded to everyone in your group so that they have access to the waiver link.

Check in is at our retail location in the Keauhou Shopping Center, 78-6831 Alii Drive. (park near Tropics Tap House and walk into the center). Detailed check in times noted below. (click the "meet us at" link above).

You will drive to Keauhou Bay, 78-100 Kaleiopapa St, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740, where the crew will meet you for your tour. (click the "we will end at" link above).
Transportation to our retail location and to Keauhou Bay is the responsibility of the guests. If you are taking an Uber, please add a first stop and second stop to your reservation so that the driver will wait for you at the retail location to take you to Keauhou Bay
You do not need to return to our retail location after the tour unless you would like a souvenir!

WHAT TO BRING:
Please wear your swimsuit, shoes that are easy to kick off, light cover-up, towel and hat, if desired. Tips for your crew always appreciated.
SUNSCREEN LAW:
BRING REEF SAFE SUNSCREEN LOTION ONLY (spray on sunscreen will not be allowed) - WHEN SHOPPING, PLEASE CHOOSE A ZINC OR MINERAL BASED SUNSCREEN. For your convenience, we sell 3oz. tubes of sunscreen that meets Hawai'i's reef safe requirements. (Please check that it does NOT contain these ingredients: oxybenzone, octinoxate, avobenzone or octocrylene).
PARKING AT KEAUHOU BAY: As you turn onto Kaleiopapa Street, there is free "ON THE STREET" parking on the left and right. Find an open spot to park and walk down until you see the boat ramp area on the left. Be mindful of the no parking areas. DO NOT park in the boat trailer parking, boat wash down area or block any driveways. Once parked, please wait near the restrooms across from the boat ramps. Once all guests are checked in at the retail location, your crew will meet you to start the trip.

Cancellation Policy
Prior to booking, please note that we enforce a 48 hour cancellation/reschedule policy. Should you need to cancel, you will be provided a full refund or replacement gift card, if applicable, with 48 hours notice. No refund will be issued for cancellations with less than 48 hours notice, for any reason. In the event that rescheduling is not possible, no refund will be issued with less than 48 hours notice. If you do not show for your scheduled tour, no refund or reschedule will be provided. We do not offer "credits" for cancellations with less than 48 hours notice or no shows.
For private charters, there is a 7 day cancellation policy prior to departure time to receive a full refund.
If you purchased trip assurance, you will be issued a refund of the tour price plus tax or a one time reschedule. The trip assurance fee is non-refundable. No refunds will be given if we do not receive a call or "no shows". Trip Assurance is not available for private charters.
A processing fee is added when booking online. This fee is only refundable if the tour is fully refunded within the cancellation policy. Refunds of this fee does not apply to partial cancellations.
Ocean Stewardship Fee "OSF". The State of Hawai'i has implemented an Ocean Stewardship Fee to be collected in the amount of $1.00 per guest. This fee is submitted directly to the State for ocean conservation programs.
If you booked through a partner of Dolphin Discoveries (TripAdvisor, Viator, Groupon), please refer to their cancellation policies.
Gift Card purchases are non-refundable.
Wildlife: Please keep in mind that our adventures are wild and free. There is no guarantee when it comes to wild animals.
If you purchased our Manta Ray Guarantee Ticket, if for any reason we are unable to view Manta Rays on the day and time you have joined us, we will gladly offer you an opportunity go out a second time at no additional charge on a space available basis. If we do not have space available or you are unable to reschedule, there are no refunds. Our Manta Guarantee is not applicable if you purchased tickets through a third party vendor.
If you booked our Whale and Dolphin watch, there are no refunds or reschedules if we do not view dolphins on the day and time you have joined us.
Guest Minimums: Please note that we have guest minimums for a tour to run. If, for some reason, we do not meet our requirement we will call or email you to reschedule your tour for another day during your stay or offer a different tour. If you are unable to reschedule, you will be issued a full refund.
Weather: The Kona Coast is blessed with the best weather, least rain, and calmest water in the state. The occasional gloomy sky can quickly turn sunny. For this reason our highly experienced Captains will assess ocean conditions 30 minutes prior to tour departure. No trip will be cancelled prior to 30 minutes before its scheduled time of departure. If the trip is cancelled due to unsafe ocean conditions, we will make every effort to reschedule your trip (subject to availability) for a later time during your stay on the island. If that is not possible, you will be issued a full refund. We do run rain or shine.
We reserve the right to cancel for any reason including weather, ocean conditions, mechanical problems or safety of our guests or crew. If for any reason we must cancel on the date and time you have scheduled, we will gladly reschedule your tour for a different day. If you are unable to reschedule, we will provide you with a full refund or replacement gift card, if applicable.
