On this merry tour, we’ll take a look at many of New York’s iconic holiday sites up close, explore its seasonal traditions, and learn how the city created fundamental aspects of modern American Christmas.
Some of the holiday sites and highlights Include:
Highlights
- Macy’s Herald Square: the inspiration of Miracle on 34th Street and birthplace of many holiday shopping traditions.
- Bryant Park: Learn about the park’s annual Winter Village and marvel at the glittering scene (and hear about the park’s sordid past).
- We’ll see the center of the city’s holiday celebration — Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall & the Rockettes.
- We’ll explore the roots of traditions like Sak’s Fifth Avenue’s animated windows, the dazzling Channel Gardens decorations, the towering Rock Center Christmas Tree, FAO Schwarz Toy Store.

Meeting place: Herald Square Park, in front of the James Gordon Benett monument. Location: between 6th Ave & Broadway, just south of 35th St. A photo of the map and meeting place is attached below.

- Please dress for the weather, as our walking tours are conducted rain or shine. After all, New York doesn’t stop for the weather!
- Please make sure to arrive at least 5-10 minutes early!
- Please note that tips for the guide are not required, but always appreciated, especially after the financially devastating years that COVID-19 has had on tourism in NYC.
Cancellation Policy
Customers will receive a full refund for cancellations made up to ten days before tour date, a 50% refund for cancellations made ten to two days before tour date, and will not receive a refund for cancellations made 48 hours before tour date.
