Description: Experience two of Washington, D.C.’s most iconic museums on a tour that brings history, science, and innovation to life. With an expert guide leading the way, you’ll navigate these vast collections effortlessly, heading straight to the most extraordinary artifacts and exhibits these world-renowned institutions have to offer!
Start your day at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, home to the world’s largest collection of natural wonders. From dazzling gemstones to towering dinosaur skeletons, this museum has something for everyone. Greet Henry, the museum’s famous taxidermied elephant, before exploring the mysteries of the natural world. Marvel at the (supposedly) cursed Hope Diamond and the brilliant Star of Asia Sapphire before stepping into the recently renovated Fossil Hall, where prehistoric giants like the T. rex, Mastodon, and Diplodocus tower overhead, bringing Earth’s ancient past to life.
After a break to recharge, cross the National Mall to the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum. Stand before the Wright Flyer, the first powered airplane, and the Spirit of St. Louis, which carried Charles Lindbergh across the Atlantic. Get up close to Neil Armstrong’s space suit and the Columbia Command Module, the only part of Apollo 11 to return from the Moon. You’ll even explore the influence of science fiction with the legendary Star Wars X-Wing and the Star Trek Starship Enterprise, both of which continue to inspire real-world innovation.
Across these two Smithsonian institutions, you’ll encounter a combined collection of over 250 million artifacts spanning billions of years of history. From the origins of life on Earth to humanity’s greatest leaps into space, this tour offers an unforgettable journey through the wonders of our world and beyond.
