Experience Detroit Lake in the comfort of a sturdy permanent fish house! At 16' x 8', this is are biggest day house rental by far! There are 6 holes, and the greatest heater of all time--we may be biased but it's tuned up and running hot!
About
Rates
- Monday-Friday - $175 for 1-2 people, $25/each additional person 5 and older.
- Saturday-Sunday - $275 for 1-2 people, $25/each additional person 5 and older.
What is it?
- Our day house is a 8' x 16' fully insulated wooden structure on a steel frame,
- It is fully heated, with 12v lighting, a fan, plus 6 rattle reels.
- Customers can also rent a generator that provides full electricity to the outlets in the house.
When is it available?
- 7 days a week starting as early as 7 am
- You can check out as late 11 pm (contact Baxstar to coordinate check out time).
Who is this for?
- Larger groups, such as
- Those who want to rent a permanent fish house, but don't need a fishing guide.
- Those looking for a home base while spending the day in town and on the lake.
Where is it located?
- The house is located on Little Detroit Lake, in an area known for Crappies, Bluegill, Pike, Bass, and Walleye.
- Convenient parking next to house
- Restaurants within 1/4 mile
- Shopping and convenience stores within 3/4 mile
Not Included: Generator, fish finders, underwater cameras, and rods/reels/tackle.
They are all available for rent and you can add them during checkout.

Cancellation Policy
Customers will receive a full refund or credit if they cancel a fishing trip or rental 30 days or more before the date of the trip. Trips cancelled between 14-29 days before the date of the trip will received a 50% refund. Trips cancelled 13 days or less before the date of the trip will not be refunded. Unfortunately, because it will likely cause a loss in revenue, there are no exceptions.
During the Spring, Summer, and Fall, partial refunds are issued if there is heavy rain and/or lightning, or sustained winds of more than 25 mph for more than half of an 8 hour rental period or fishing trip. In these cases, the refund amount will correlate with the amount of time the severe weather lasts. Full refunds are issued if heavy rain and/or lightning, or sustained winds of more than 25 mph occur during for the entire duration of the rental period or fishing trip. During the Winter, customers will be refunded if blizzard conditions prevent them from traveling to the lake. Customers will also receive a full refund or credit in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Contact us by phone to cancel or inquire about a cancellation.
Please be 5 minutes early for your rental or fishing trip. Baxstar reserves the right to cancel any rental or fishing trip, without a refund, if customers are late. Customers must be in contact with Baxstar if they are going to arrive late. While we can usually accommodate late arrivals up to 30 minutes late, we can not guarantee it and the rental or fishing trip may still get canceled with no refund. Guests arriving 30 minutes or later will forfeit their rental or fishing trip and they will not receive a refund. No-shows will be charged the full price.
