Walk the path of famous circumnavigator & explorer James Cook & visit site of historic Ka`awaloa village and Hawaiian Royalty. Ages 10-65 Welcome.
The Deluxe Kayak Kealakekua Bay & Snorkel Tours includes:
*Wide, stable open-deck tandem kayaks are used & you’ll appreciate our quality mask, snorkel & fins. Bottled water and drinks and snacks are also included, so there's no need to bring a lunch.
* Sightings of Marine Life; Hawaiian spinner dolphins are seen on over 1/2 our tours & humpback whales are seen in the winter. Green sea turtles are always a treat to watch and are frequent visitors to the area
* Remarkable snorkeling at Capt. Cook Monument! Brightly colored tropical fish & coral gardens are the features most commonly enjoyed here.
**We do not touch or engage the Dolphins in the water. All visitors are required to keep a minimum 50 yard distance from dolphins - set by the State of Hawaii **
WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS:
Please be sure all your guests are under 275 pounds. Our kayaks will not accommodate those over that weight and those who exceed that weight will not be allowed to participate on the date of the event.
Kayak & Swimming Skills Required:
This is NOT a tour for beginning kayakers or swimmers.
Intermediate kayaking skill are Required: experience in "self rescue" techniques needed.
This trip requires significant upper body strength for both performing pushups to reenter a capsized kayak and righting a capsized kayak. Be prepared on the date of your trip to demonstrate your strength by performing 5 military style pushups to your guide.
Ages 10 - 65 welcome. Very good health, no health or mobility problems, and no paddlers over 275# (kayak weight capacity limits)

What Is Not Included?
- Tax is not included in the above listed price. A tax of 11.308% will be charged - this includes 4.16% state tax, and a $5 per person state park fee.
- Gratuity is not included in the price. Please remember guides rely on tips as part of their income.

Quick Meeting Instructions
We meet at Napoopoo Pier on Kealakekua Bay. Located at intersection of Lower Napoopoo Rd & Puuhonua Rd. From KAILUA-KONA: (50 minute drive time) Go South on HWY 11 about 35 minutes Go right on Napoopoo Rd for 10 minutes until.the road ends at YELLOW GATE. We meet behind the gate. But first park to right, about one block distance - near restrooms & walk back to yellow gate. JOT THESE DIRECTIONS NOW! DO NOT rely on cell phone GPS navigation or online directions - there's POOR CELL RECEPTION at Kealakekua Bay
Warning: Be sure to jot down these directions NOW. There is POOR CELL PHONE RECEPTION at Kealakekua Bay - our meeting place. If you don't write down these directions you will not be able to find us via GPS, online directions or calling us directly, on the day of your trip!
We meet 30 minutes prior to departure time. This allows time for parking, walking to the pier, completing a liability release and going through our kayak orientation. Tours leave the dock promptly at departure time. Guests arriving late: If you arrive 15 minutes before Departure time you are LATE and May not have time to go through the pre-departure steps and may not be allowed to join the tour. If your party is not present at the pier by 8:15 am you have missed the tour. Tours are nonrefundable and can only be rescheduled if there is availability.

Please meet your guide on Napo'opo'o Pier at Kealakekua Bay. The pier is located behind a yellow metal gate at the intersection of Puuhonua Road & Lower Napo'opo'o Road. Suggest you print out a google map of this location the day before your trip. Please get your google map prior to your trip day and have ready in your car.
Upon arrival, walk around the yellow gate to Napo'opo'o Pier and introduce yourselves to the guide near the kayak trailer and van. The guide arrives and sets up typically between 8 -8:15am for the 8:30am morning tour and between 11:30am and 11:45am for the 12pm tour. Trip will be 2.5 hours.
DIRECTIONS: From Waikoloa Resorts:(Total travel time 1 hour & 30 minutes)
Go south on Highway 19 for about 30 minutes at which time you will enter Kailua Kona town. Here highway 19 turns into Highway 11.
Go south on Highway 11 for another 30 minutes and turn right on Napoopoo Road. (Napoopoo Road is about 2 minutes past McDonalds or about one minute past mile marker 111)
Go down Napoopoo Road(right turn just after the Chevron gas station, for 10 minutes until it dead ends into Puuhonua Road. At this intersection is a yellow metal gate. We meet behind this gate, near the water.
You should turn right at the intersection of Puuhonua Road and Napoopoo Road and travel about one block and find parking near the restrooms at the end of the road. Walk back to the yellow metal gate and look for your guide near the water.
From Kailua-Kona: (Total travel time about 55 minutes)
Go south on Highway 11 for 45 minutes and turn right on Napoopoo Road. (Napoopoo Road is about 2 minutes past McDonalds or about one minute past mile marker 111)
Go down Napoopoo Road for 10 minutes until it dead ends into Puuhonua Road. At this intersection we meet behind a yellow metal gate.
But first, turn right at the intersection of Puuhonua Road and Napoopoo Road and find parking near the restrooms/end of the road. Walk back to the yellow metal gate and look for your guide near the water.
Parking
Once you arrive at the yellow gate / entrance to Napo'opo'o Pier, go right and park near the county restrooms near end of the road.
Once you park, walk back one block to the yellow gate to Napo'opo'o Pier meeting place.
Cancellation Policy
Non-refundable, cannot be rescheduled.
Once purchased, tickets cannot be refunded and cannot be rescheduled because your space is being guaranteed at the event.
Activity may be canceled by the seller due to severe weather.
The activity usually runs in light rain and other moderate weather conditions, but the seller may cancel the activity up to an hour before the start time in the event of severe or unsafe weather conditions. If the seller cancels the event due to severe weather at the scheduled tour time, ticket-holders will be allowed to reschedule tickets (subject to availability) or receive credit for a future event or receive a refund. Trips may also be canceled if minimum guest numbers for the day of your trip are not met. When minimum numbers are not met, guests receive full refunds.
