🌺 Aloha and Mahalo for Choosing Dive Kauai!
We can’t wait to welcome you to your Discover Scuba Diving – Ocean Experience on Kauai! Below you’ll find all the important details you need for your adventure. Please read carefully to ensure you are fully prepared and excited for your upcoming dive.
🤿 Discover Scuba Diving – Ocean Experience Overview
Get ready for an unforgettable underwater adventure with Dive Kauai’s Discover Scuba Diving – Ocean Experience! Specifically designed for first-time (non-certified) divers, this PADI-sanctioned program offers a unique opportunity to explore Kauai’s breathtaking marine life, including the famous Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles, all without the need for a full certification course.
This exciting shore dive at Koloa Landing Dive Site provides a safe and enjoyable experience with depths of up to 40 feet. Most of this dive will be between 30 to 35 feet, allowing you to get up close and personal with marine life rather than hovering high above, as you might on deeper boat dives. The protected cove offers ideal water conditions that enhance your chances of a successful and memorable dive.
📍 What to Expect During Your Discover Scuba Dive:
Our Discover Scuba Dive Ocean Experience is designed to make your first dive a success. Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of what to expect:
1. Simple Registration (BEFORE Arrival) – MANDATORY FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS:
- Every participant, regardless of age, MUST complete the 20-minute online registration and orientation BEFORE arrival.
- This process is accessible from the PURPLE/BLUE SECTION of this email titled "NEXT STEPS."
- DO NOT wait until the day before or the day of your dive to complete this process! Failure to complete registration before arrival may result in being ineligible for a refund if you are unable to participate for any reason.
- We cannot stress this enough: Complete the registration as early as possible to avoid disappointment!
2. Check-In & Arrival:
- Please arrive at the dive site 15 minutes before your scheduled start time.
- You are meeting at the dive site, NOT a shop or storefront. Use Google Maps and click the “Get Directions” link in the PURPLE SECTION of this email to plan your route. (You will also be sent a text the night before.)
- Late arrivals will be considered a Day of Cancellation, and no refunds will be provided. If we can reschedule you (not guaranteed), there will be a $60+tax per person rescheduling fee.
3. Briefing & Preparation (20-25 minutes):
- Upon arrival, your PADI-certified instructor will provide a thorough briefing covering essential techniques, equipment usage, and safety guidelines to ensure your comfort and confidence.
- Our small-group experience (maximum of 4 divers per instructor) ensures you receive personalized attention and guidance.
4. Skill Practice & Dive:
- You will practice 4 basic scuba skills in shallow water to confirm you are comfortable and ready for the actual dive.
- Once successfully completed, you’ll begin your dive adventure, each dive typically lasting 20-40 minutes underwater, depending on your breathing rate.
- The experience, from start to finish, is approximately 3.5-4 hours.
💡 Note: The shore location can be hot in direct sunlight. Please plan ahead by bringing hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen for comfort.
