We will relax and enjoy cold beverages and river views. We will stop at a local spot called Wrong Way Cabins for drinks and then float further down to Hi-Wre Brewery. We will have time for a beer at each spot and will end right across the street from New Belgium Brewery.

Tip for the guide
Itinerary: 1. Wrong Way Cabins
2. Hi-Wire Brewery
3. New Belgium Brewery
Highlights: A unique way to combine paddling the French Broad River while exploring some of the great Asheville Breweries located along the river. This stretch of the river is mild flowing water with no rapids. You will not be in the water except occassionally for your feet. It is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the views.
The middle section was ravaged by Hurricane Helene and our beloved Wedge Foundation and 12 Bones BBQ were destroyed. We will paddle past those areas and arrive at the Hi-Wire Brewery downstream of the destruction.
As we travel downriver, we will have the opportunity to possibly see turtles, ducks, geese, herons, and perhaps a river otter!
We will end the tour at New Belgium Brewery where you can enjoy a beverage overlooking the river we just paddled. You can depart from there to your next destination.

Additional Info
Hello everyone!
Welcome to Cedar Rock Adventures! We hope you're excited for your upcoming river trip! Below is some important info for your trip so please read in detail and everything will be awesome. If any of this doesn’t make sense, please message us!
BEFORE THE TRIP:
Packing list: Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, swimwear, river shoes (if don't have river shoes, sandals with back strap should be okay), poncho/rain jacket (optional, for the occasional rain shower), a valid ID, credit card and cash for the breweries/bars, water bottle, snacks (if you want, but there's also lots of food options at the stops).
If you have a way of keeping phones and wallets dry, great. Otherwise I’ll have a shared "dry bag" you can throw those items in.
Please do not arrive intoxicated (we reserve the right to deny participation on the trip for safety reasons). You may bring a beer or two for the first leg of the journey if you like. There will be opportunity at the breweries for more tasty libations.
WEATHER: If weather presents a safety issue (water level, wind, temperature, severe prolonged storms) I will cancel the trip and you'll get a full refund. You'll be notified if I cancel the trip on the morning before we leave. That said, afternoon rains pass through Asheville quickly and a little rain never hurt anyone, so we'll continue if it's still safe.
TRANSPORTATION (VERY IMPORTANT): Obviously, this trip doesn’t end where it starts! Here’s the best strategy to make sure you and your car end up reunited at the end of the trip:
-
Drive to 220 Hominy Creek Rd, Asheville NC 28806. This is Hominy Creek River Park, about a 10 minute drive South from downtown Asheville. This is the “put-in” (the place where the trip starts). PLEASE try to give yourself enough time to get to the put-in promptly. Sometimes there is a traffic line on weekends due the town transfer station being on the same road. Just have to be patient. If something is delaying you, let me know via a message as soon as possible. Please try to arrive 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure time. It can be crowded, but street parking is available. There are bathrooms here at the put-in.
-
We’ll stop at along the river and have a variety of options based on the day of the week and the time of day. There are food trucks at several of the stops. We do not provide alcohol at the stops.
-
From New Belgium, it is YOUR responsibility to get back to the river park where your vehicle is waiting. I highly recommend waiting until you're safe to drive, then grabbing an UBER or LYFT!
Finally, we need everyone to complete a waiver online. There is a link in your confirmation from Fareharbor.
Thanks for reading! Please let me know if you have any last-minute questions or requests. We will see you soon!
Cancellation Policy
Cancel up to 5 days in advance for a FULL refund. If you are unable to attend, we appreciate if you let us know so that we are not delaying the start time of the trip waiting for your arrival. If you cancel less than 5 days and we are able to fill your seat, we will issue a refund.
We will cancel tours if there are dangerous weather conditions, but we will still proceed if there is a chance of inclement weather. We provide all the necessary gear to keep participants comfortable. If you do not want to paddle in light rain or the cold, we encourage you to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance allows you to cancel your reservation for any reason up until the start time of your tour.
