The Experience
I craft one four-hour adventure each morning just for the small group and unique goings on in the City that day. The itinerary is open - we will always stop at San Francisco’s classic landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge and Twin Peaks and typically roll through neighborhoods like North Beach, Pacific Heights, Haight-Ashbury, Castro, and the Embarcadero.
We will also leave big buses behind and may explore street-art alleys in the Mission, mosaic stairways in the Sunset, the laid-back vibe of the Presidio, our Beaux-Arts City Hall, famous “Painted Ladies” at Alamo Square, or go down the real crookedest street in San Francisco (not Lombard). It all depends on what's best just that day.
There is no food service on Alcatraz or at the ferry. Midway through we will stop at a local market where the group can get a quick lunch and do some local people watching.
Alcatraz
At the end of the city tour, I will drop you off at the Alcatraz ferry landing. There your ferry tickets to "the Rock" will be waiting for you. Explore the island at your leisure (most guests take two to three hours) and return on any of several ferries back to the City. From there, you can explore Pier 39 and the Fisherman's Wharf area and return to your hotel on foot, by taxi/rideshare, or by cable car.
Tour Timing
- Hotel pickups between 9am and 9:30am (exact time depends on location and where other guests are staying that day)
- Pier 33 (Alcatraz Ferry) drop off 1:30pm
- Return from Alcatraz 4:30pm (approximate)

- Alcatraz Cruises requires us to list all guest names on our ticket manifest.
- Pickup is available from most SF hotels.

- We will make a brief stop where your group can get lunch during the tour. The price of food is not included

Book their cruise for the 2pm ferry or later, and I can drop you at the ferry landing in time to catch your boat.

For Your Morning City Tour
Thanks for booking with me! I’m stoked to be part of your party’s adventure in San Francisco.
Expect pickup at your hotel in San Francisco up to half an hour before the activity start time shown above. We will make a stop where the group can get some lunch while on tour and I will drop you off at the Alcatraz ferry landing at Pier 33 four hours after the activity start time shown above.
I will be in touch with you the day before to confirm an exact pickup time and go over any other details. Please check your phone number to make sure it's the best way to reach you the day before and the day of the experience.
If you haven't chosen a pickup point yet, please let me know whenever you book accommodation. I can offer pickup from anywhere in the downtown area (Union Square, Fisherman's Wharf, SOMA etc.) or can arrange a mutually convenient point if you end up staying outside San Francisco itself.
My tour van is open on the sides (no windows) for great views and has a canopy to keep the sun off. The weather in San Francisco can be highly variable so dress in layers and bring your sense of adventure! Blankets and warm jackets are available for your comfort.

For Your Afternoon Alcatraz Tour
I will drop you off at the Alcatraz ferry landing at Pier 33 four hours after the tour start time shown above. This will be 30 minutes before you Alcatraz ferry departure. Your tickets will be waiting for you at the will call ticket window. You will need to show a photo ID for each adult (18+) in your party to pick up your tickets.
Your Alcatraz ferry ticket includes passage to the island and access to the cell house and its award-winning audio tour, as well as all the other programs happening out there on the day of your visit.
Most groups take three hours total to visit the Rock, but depending on the season you may be able to stay longer - you will probably be back on shore Pier 33 by 5pm. You will make your own way on from there. I will be sure you have directions back to your hotel or to your next activity when I drop you off at the ferry terminal.
Please wear comfortable shoes for your visit; you will be walking around the cell house and around the island. There is no food available on the island and picnicking is not allowed. There are restroom facilities on the island.

Cancellation Policy
Full payment is required at the time of booking for all tours.
For the San Francisco City Urban Adventure, a full refund is available up to 24 hours in advance. After that point, no refunds are allowed. I understand that flights get delayed, traffic happens and plans change. I can reschedule your tour at any time without penalties or fees - subject to availability.
For the City Urban Adventure plus Alcatraz, the Alcatraz ferry company requires me to finalize my ticket list ten days in advance. A full refund for this tour is available up to 10 days in advance. After that point no refunds are allowed. I understand that flights get delayed, traffic happens and plans change. I can reschedule the city tour portion of the experience at any time without penalties or fees - subject to availability. Rescheduling Alcatraz may require purchasing new tickets at their face value ($41 for adults, $25 for kids under 12).
For the Morning in Marin, a full refund is available 72 hours in advance. After that point, no refunds are allowed. I can reschedule the land portion of the experience up to 72 hours in advance without penalties or fees - subject to availability. I can not reschedule trips within 72 hours. Flights may be canceled or flight routes altered at Seaplane Adventures sole discretion due to weather or federal airspace mandates/restrictions. If the seaplane portion of the trip is canceled due to weather, that amount ($219pp for adults) will be fully refunded.
For the SF City Tour and Bay Boat Tour Combo, a full refund is available up to 24 hours in advance. After that point, no refunds are allowed. I understand that flights get delayed, traffic happens and plans change. I can reschedule your tour at any time without penalties or fees - subject to availability.
For private tour bookings, I put time and effort into planning your unique private tour experience from the day that you book, so 20% of the reservation amount is not refundable. The remaining 80% is refundable up to 24 hours before departure. After that point, no refunds are allowed.
