- Physical Difficulty: Easy - Difficult
- Minimum Age: We suggest a minimum age of 6 for Rock Climbing Canyon trips. Exceptions are sometimes made, so please give us a call or shoot us an email to discuss your options.
- We customize our rock climbing trips to fit your goals and abilities. Upon booking, we will contact you to find out more about your experience and what type of day you're looking for.
Tour Description
Come check out what makes Moab rock climbing so unique! The sandstone landscapes surrounding us have eroded into a virtual playground of walls, towers, ridges and canyons. Rock Climbing in Moab can be good any time of the year. We chase shade in the summer and sun in the winter. With several different crags to choose from, we can cater to everyone’s abilities and goals. Since no one will ever be added to your group, our guides will truly give you their undivided attention and expert instruction.
We provide all the technical gear that you'll need for your day of climbing with us, except climbing shoes. Rock climbing shoes can be rented at our shop - please let us know if you'll need to rent a pair.

Thanks for scheduling a private rock climbing adventure with Desert Highlights!
Everyone in your group will need to sign our Acknowledgement of Risk Form when you arrive at our shop. You can preview the form here.
Time:
- Meet at the shop at the time noted on your reservation above, unless other arrangements have been made. Please arrive on time.
- Expect to be out for about 7-8 hours.
- Please read the cancellation and late arrival policy at the bottom of this email.
What to Wear and Bring:
- Closed-toe hiking shoes
- Rock climbing shoes if you have them. Otherwise, we have climbing shoes available for rent.
- Hiking clothes - Regular hiking clothes that are appropriate for the weather will be fine for rock climbing. You can check the weather here before your trip.
- Water in Bottles - Enough to be out and active for 7-8 hours (at least 2 liters per person, more in the summer months).
- Food - Bring your favorite snacks and a lunch. We'll have a cooler available in the vehicle.
- Optional, but recommended - sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, camera
- An extra puffy layer can be nice for standing around or belaying during colder months.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Policy
Groups of less than 10 people: All of your money will be refunded if you cancel prior to two weeks before your trip date. If you cancel within two weeks of your trip, but outside of 48 hours, you’ll be charged a $20/person deposit. Cancellations made within 48 hours of your trip will not be refunded.
Groups of 10 or more people: A 10% deposit is required at the time of booking. This is non-refundable, unless our guides cancel due to weather. The remaining balance is due within 48 hours of the trip date.
Late Arrivals: Although our tours are private, and we will accommodate late arrivals as we can, occasionally a late arrival can cause tours later in the day and/or shuttle logistics to be affected. Because of this, we reserve the right to cancel your tour if you arrive more than 30 minutes after your scheduled reservation time. If a tour is canceled because of a late arrival, a refund will not be issued.
Weather: Full refunds are given if your guide cancels your trip due to bad weather. Our guides will make the final "go/no go" decision based on the safety of your group. If you decide to cancel because of uncomfortable weather, our standard cancellation policy will apply.
Travel Insurance: If you believe there is a chance that you will have to cancel your tour within the non-refundable 24-hour cancellation period, we strongly encourage you to purchase travel insurance. We are not affiliated with any insurance companies, but can recommend www.travelexinsurance.com.
