Bandelier National Park is located 50 miles north west of Santa Fe. Our drive will be 1 hour each direction.

Hiking Terrain
Hiking Terrain Elevation at 6,600 ft
Tsankawi | 1.5 miles
Involves some climbing and narrow places between rocks. We will climb 3 ladders along the trail.
2023 Tsankawi Closure*
Bandelier National Monument will temporarily close its Tsankawi Unit in mid-March 2023 due to extensive construction work. It is expected to reopen in late-October 2023. The final closure date will be posted on the park’s website once the construction schedule is finalized.

Hiking along paved trail and inclines on narrow stairs up to experience Cliff Dwellings and the Long House.

Parking is available for all Heritage Inspirations guests at Inn & Spa at Loretto. Please let Valet know you are here for a tour and you will be directed to park in the hotel lot.

What To Bring
At high elevations and in a dry climate, proper hydration and sun protection is a necessity. New Mexico weather can also change without much notice. We recommend bringing:
- Sunscreen & SPF lip balm
- Wear comfortable walking shoes, preferably with traction
- Hat and/or sunglasses
- Layered clothing, including a light, long sleeve layer for sun protection and a rain layer
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Water, water, water

Cancellation Policy
Half & Full Day Tours
Our Day Tour Bookings require full deposit at the time of booking. Due to the intimate size of our trips, we will refund cancellations when informing our team up to 14 days in advance. Any cancellations not within a 14 day notice will be non-refundable. We regret that exceptions to our cancellation policy cannot be made for any reason, including weather, terrorism, civil unrest or personal emergencies. There is no refund for arriving late or leaving a trip early.
