HELPFUL TIPS BEFORE YOU GO
-
Wear proper footwear. Closed-toe shoes with rubber soles (tennis shoes or hiking boots) are required. Please skip the sandals, flip-flops, and heels.
-
Dress in layers. Desert temps shift fast! A sweater or light jacket is a good idea for morning tours, especially November through March. Temperatures in Joshua Tree can be 15-20 degrees cooler than in the low desert and we sometimes encounter snow in the winter months.
-
Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water before and after your tour — especially in the warmer months.
-
Sun protection is key. Bring a hat, wear sunglasses, and apply sunscreen before your tour. Desert sun reflects off the sand and can sneak up on you.
-
Snacks and drinks. We provide bottled water and granola bars as well as a boxed lunch. You're welcome to pre-order additional snacks and beverages if you’d like to customize your tour. Please avoid bringing outside food or drink unless it’s for young children.
-
Restroom access. Bathroom access within Joshua Tree National Park is limited. We will plan a bathroom break before entering the park and at least one withing the park. But please let your guide know if you may need more frequent stops so he/she can plan accordingly.
-
Bring your camera! You’ll want photos — and if you share them on social, tag us:
