It’s important to note that we call it "whale watching" and not "whale seeing" for a reason. The ocean is a vast and untamed wilderness, and while our experienced crew does their utmost to provide sightings of these magnificent creatures, their presence cannot be guaranteed. The journey, with its potential for surprises and spontaneous marvels, is what makes each tour a unique and thrilling experience. Our Captains and Crew will work diligently to find the whales and provide a top notch experience for you!
Important Tour Requirements:
- Adventure, Not Leisure: Be prepared for an adventure; our Zodiac boats offer a dynamic experience, not a leisurely cruise.
- Age Limitation: Participants must be at least 5 years old to join the adventure.
- Safety First: For safety reasons, pregnant individuals and those with significant health concerns, such as back, neck, hip issues, chronic joint problems, or recent surgeries, are advised not to participate.
- Location Note: This tour explores the southern coast of Kauai and does not venture to the Napali Coast.
- Activity Focus: The tour is dedicated to whale watching and does not include snorkeling.
- Self-Transportation: Guests are responsible for their own transportation to and from the departure location included in the detailed confirmation email.

🚤 Tour Details:

Departure: From the Small Boat Harbor in POIPU, SOUTH side of Kauai. For directions, click "GET DIRECTIONS" in the PURPLE SECTION of this email.
Duration: Approximately 2-2.5 hours. Note: Duration can vary due to conditions and sightings. -
Prime Location: Depart from the Poipu Area, South Side of Kauai Island, for a convenient and scenic journey.
- Seasonal Experience: Embark on an exciting adventure to seek out the majestic humpback whales in Hawaiian waters from December to March.
- Hear Their Songs: Our underwater microphone (hydrophone) lets you listen to the enchanting songs and vocalizations of these incredible creatures.
- Nature’s Magic: While we do our utmost to provide sightings of whales, it’s important to note that their presence cannot be guaranteed. This is "whale watching," not "whale seeing," and the journey itself—enjoying Kauai’s stunning beauty and the thrill of the ocean—is what makes the experience unforgettable.

- Check-In Time: Arrive 15 minutes before your tour starts.
- 🕰 Timeliness is Key:
Tours start on time. No exceptions for latecomers. Late arrivals are considered day-of cancellations without refunds. If you're late but we can reschedule (not guaranteed), a $45+tax fee will apply per person.
⚓ Our Vessel:
Join us on our 25' Rigid Hull Zodiac Boat: "Hokupa'a". These boats, known for speed and agility. These vessels have a closer proximity to the water, so you might experience refreshing splashes. There are no formal "seats" – you'll sit on the inflatable tubes on the boat's periphery. Additionally, there's no bathroom or shade on board. - Dry Bag for personal belongings
- Light Snacks and Non-Alcoholic Beverages (Bring own reusable water bottle for water)
🎒 You MAY want to Bring:
- Rain/Splash Jackets
- Reusable Water Bottle (we've stopped using plastic bottles)
- Sunscreen (applied at least 30 minutes prior to the tour)
- Water-friendly clothes and shoes.
- Towel, Sunglasses (with leash), and hat (with secure straps)
- Long hair? Secure it in a ponytail.

⚓Kauai Z Tours Boat Policy:
- No expectant mothers will be permitted to board vessel.
- This is an ocean adventure. Ocean conditions can vary and may turn rough at times; this tour may not be suitable for everyone.
- If anyone is prone to motion sickness, we recommend taking a preventative ahead of time. No refunds are given for seasickness.
- Children must be at least 5 years old to board vessel.
- If anyone requires daily medication like asthma inhalers, epi-pens, insulin, or other necessary medications, it is mandatory that you bring them with you on your tour.
- Anyone with chronic back, neck or hip injuries, or back pains and/or limb impairment/injuries should not board vessel.
- Anyone with recent surgeries of any kind should not board vessel.
- No smoking on tour

24 HOUR CANCELLATION POLICY FOR ALL TOURS
Kauai's Ultimate Whale & Dolphin Watch Zodiac Boat Adventure is something you won’t want to miss! However, we do understand that things happen and you may be required to cancel or postpone your Kauai Z-Tourz adventure. For this reason, we have developed a selection of policies we feel best accommodate circumstances that may be beyond your control.
*** Regular Tours cancelled up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled date and time of the tour will not be charged any fees to credit card on file*** (This is calculated down to the minute! If tour is at 8am, you have until 7:59am Hawaii time the day before)
Regular Tours cancelled less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled date and time of the tour or customers who do not show up to the scheduled tour will be charged 100% of the tour total (This is calculated down to the minute! If tour is at 8am, you have until 7:59am Hawaii time the day before)
Private Charters cancelled up to 72 hours prior to the scheduled date and time of the tour will not be charged any fees to credit card on file (This is calculated down to the minute! If tour is at 8am, you have until 7:59am Hawaii time 72 hours prior)
Private Charters cancelled less than 72 hours prior to the scheduled date and time of the tour or private charters who do not show up to the scheduled tour will be charged 100% of the tour total* (This is calculated down to the minute! If tour is at 8am, you have until 7:59am Hawaii time 72 hours prior)
***If you are late and the tour has had to start with out you, this will be considered a day of cancellation and not eligible for a refund of any kind!
