Description: During this course students master the fundamentals of the FII education system in an easy-to-learn course format operating between the classroom, pool and open water setting. With a high emphasis on safety and comfort, students master the proper skills to effectively operate up to depths of 66 feet/20 meters.
What is Included: - Classroom instruction
- Confined water training
- Open water dives
What is not Included: - Personal gear (mask, snorkel, fins, weight belt, wetsuit)
- Lunch
Itinerary: - Day 1: Classroom session (7:45 AM - 12:00 PM) followed by confined water training (1:00 PM - 5:00 PM)
- Day 2: Open water dive (8:00 AM - 11:00 AM), final exam and lunch (11:00 AM - 1:00 PM)

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to go on this freediving journey with you. To begin your level 1 course kindly complete the necessary paperwork. Please fill out your course waivers (see above).
Gear Required for the class:
- Mask
- Snorkel
- Fins: split fins and open-heel are not recommended
- Weight-belt and weights: weights in 1lb or 2lb
- Wetsuit (3mm recommended)
Personal Items: Towel, Sunscreen, Water, Hat
All items are available for rent or purchase in our shop, but we strongly* recommend that you have your own gear
Unless otherwise specified by your instructor we will meet at 7:45 am at Kona Honu Divers for class.
Day1
Classroom 7:45am – 12:00pm @ Kona Freedivers/Kona Honu Divers
Lunch Break 12:00pm – 1:00pm
Confined Water 1:00pm - 5:00pm
Day 2
Ocean 8:00am – 11:00am
Location to be decided during Day 1
11:00am - 1:00pm Final Exam and lunch nearby

Cancellation Policy
Please be informed of our cancellation policy.
Full payment is due at the time of booking. You may make changes or cancellations to your reservation up to 72 hours prior to your course and receive a full refund. Cancellations made inside of 72-hours will not be refunded.
Lateness and no-shows
We ask all students to arrive promptly at the scheduled course time. Do not underestimate driving time. Morning traffic conditions are quite congested and slow moving, especially if you are staying South of Kailua-Kona and driving North to the harbor. It is your responsibility to arrive on time. There will be no refunds given for students that are more than 15 minutes late or that do not arrive for their intended course.
What if we cancel?
We reserve the right to cancel for any reason including, but not limited to weather, ocean conditions, student count, mechanical issues, safety for you, our students, and our instructors. We'll do our best to reschedule your course based on availability or you'll be issued a refund in full. We will contact you via the phone number and/or email address provided in the reservation. We are not responsible if we can not contact you for important information regarding the charter.
