About
All of our Surf Lessons are taught on the beaches and waters off of Kalama park. A.k.A. ‘The Cove’ in Kihei, Maui. This is the best place to learn to surf in all of Maui maybe even the world, due to the semi-shallow water depth and slow break of the waves with an average year-round water temp of 79° — It’s just awesome… We are fully permitted by the Maui County Parks Dept.
Lessons are 2 hours in length and include everything you need for the waves. We also have a professional photographer to capture the proof of your new surfing skills. Photo packages are sold separately, but at a very fair price. We take great pride in our surf lesson and teach everyone the proper technique of popping up directly to your feet. We do not teach the knee slide pop-up. Our professional instructors genuinely want you to learn to surf.

Our classes are scheduled at 8 am & again at 10:00 am in the mornings. Every day except for Sundays. You DO need to reserve your spot in advance. The classes fill quickly In Hawaii, we normally have strong trade winds in the afternoons, limiting our schedule during that time. The best time to surf in Hawaii is early morning... Clean sets & beautiful skies! We look forward to teaching you soon, and guarantee, you will surf your first lesson! Each of our professional instructor's is CPR & First Aid certified, and, of course, the very best on the island. Private & semi-private lessons are always available.
We recommend taking your lesson early in your island stay so that you can come back and use your new skills on the warm waves of Maui.
We do not have a minimum age, due to kids being so different, but if the child is 8 and under, we highly recommend a parent take the lesson with them. Families have a blast surfing together!!! This could be the high lite of your island stay!!

Aloha, You are confirmed for your Surf Lesson.
Lessons are 2 hours total in length including briefing/land-lesson. We provide everything you need for the water, (reef shoes, lycra rashguard top, and surfboards).
All participants must be confident swimmers.
Please check-in at our "Surf Club Maui" Van, 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
Check-in at Kalama Beach Park, (1900 Sth Kihei Rd. Kihei). We are across the street from the Aloha Gas Station. Our van is parked in the middle of the main parking lot (south of the Whale statue). Free parking is available at Kalama Park.
- During Busy Times, please allow for up to 15-minute delay to Start times/end times.
Please be sure to email, call, or send a text message to 808-283-9749 a day before your lesson to confirm weather conditions and lesson start time.

24-hour cancellation policy is strictly enforced, we are reserving this space for you so we will have your instructor ready when you arrive.
Note: our Minimum Age for a Group class is 11 years old (95 pounds / 43kg), if under 11 years old or 95 pounds, you must book a semi-private or a private class. Children under 8 years old must book a private class. If you have any questions or have made a reservation in error, please contact us to make the correct booking adjustment.
Note: MaximumWeight: Our Equipment has a maximum rider weight limit of 220-230 pounds (100-105 kg). Please notify us if you exceed these limits so we can make special arrangements. Heavier surfers are recommended to take private lessons.
Waivers must be signed before arriving for your lesson;
What to bring:
A long-sleeved surf shirt/lycra top (if you don't have one, we will provide it for you)
Yoga Pants (if you don't have them, we will provide them for you)
Reef shoes (if you don't have them, we will provide them for you)
Drinking water (please stay well-hydrated before your lesson)
Cash for a gratuity Tip (Suggested Tip is 20% for your Surf instructor after the lesson).
Photography (*optional. Please note additional fees apply):
We work with an in-water photography company that will take photographs/videos of your experience. Photos will be available to view in a slide show after your surf session. There is an additional fee to purchase the photo package (average $60 per person).

Cancellation Policy
Customers must cancel at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellation within 24 hours will not receive a refund. Customers will also receive a full refund in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Contact us by phone and text to cancel or inquire about a cancellation. No-shows will be charged the full price. You can also cancel your own reservation online, on our booking portal.
