Do you believe in ghosts? Beyond the rhythms of Beale Street's blues lies a darker history of vice, voodoo, phantoms, ghosts and lost souls.
During this 90-minute tour, your guide will lead you through the dark mysteries and spooky tales behind such haunted sites As:
- The Orpheum Theater, home of "Mary," who has haunted performances since 1921
- John Alexander Austin House, a Victorian era mansion haunted by lovers
- The notorious Ernestine & Hazel's, a former brothel long recognized as one of the most haunted buildings in Memphis. It is home to several ghosts as well as a haunted jukebox.
Please note, this tour is primarily outside. We do go into Ernestine & Hazel's, but we are unable to go inside the Orpheum Theater or any of the private residences.
The tour is appropriate for all ages. Join us today to experience the haunted side of Memphis. Offered Wednesday - Sunday, March through November; Fridays and Saturdays only in January and February, and December.

All tours depart from the Backbeat Tours ticket podium at ALFRED'S ON BEALE, on the corner of Beale Street and BB King Blvd (197 Beale Street).
We ask that you please check in at our ticket counter no later than 10 - 15 minutes before your tour.
There are numerous parking options near the tour departure location. The two most convenient garages are located on: (1) Peabody Place, between 2nd and BB King Blvd.; and (2) Second Street, between Beale St. and Lt. George W. Lee Ave. Parking in these garages is usually $10 per day during special events, $1 per hour all other times.
Cancellation Policy
Customers may receive a full refund with 24 hours notice of cancellation. Customers will also receive a full refund in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Contact us by phone to cancel or inquire about a cancellation. No-shows will be charged the full price.
