FAQ
What kind of kayaks do you use?
For safety purposes, we use tandem kayaks with 2 paddlers per boat. If you have an odd number someone can partner with a guide or make a new friend from another group. We have sit-on top ocean kayaks, and clear kayaks. Please check out the pros and cons of each type in the “kayaks” section of our website.
What should I wear?
You can wear whatever you like so long as you are prepared to get wet. Shoes can be left on the beach where we launch our kayaks. If you plan to wear shoes in the kayak, wear shoes that can get wet.
What should I bring?
Please bring a reusable water bottle, the guides will have extra water for refills.
You may want to bring a towel for after the trip to dry off.
Bug spray is fine so long as it does not contain deet. We have reason to believe that deet is harmful to microorganisms in the ocean.
We can secure small personal items for you, including cell phones, keys and wallets, so that you do not have to leave them in your car.

Keep in mind our site is NOT located in the Salt River Marina. Continue past the marina entrance following the signs for Bush Tribe. As you approach Columbus Landing, you will see Bush Tribe’s private gate.

Cancellation Policy
- If an excursion is cancelled before it begins due to inclement weather, we will be happy to reschedule or provide a full refund-- your choice.
- If you are NOT able to go on your scheduled adventure with us, please let us know (340.277.2503) call/text or email at bushtribeusvi@gmail.com.
- Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance will receive a full refund.
- For cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled trip, there is no refund.
