Overview
Lake Ray Roberts State Park Johnson Branch Unit
This is planned to be a 2hr paddle on a remote cove. We will paddle the Cove ending up at the main body of the Lake and Islands at sunset approx. 3 miles.
As you glide through the calm waters of Ray Roberts Johnson Branch Park during a sunset wildlife paddle, you are treated to a truly magical experience. The vibrant colors of the setting sun bathe the park in a warm, golden glow, casting a peaceful and calming atmosphere over the entire area. As you paddle around the islands that dot the waters, you are surrounded by a wealth of wildlife that calls this park home.
One of the most exciting sightings during this paddle is that of playful otters. These adorable creatures are known for their energetic and curious behavior, and watching them splash and dive in the water is a true delight. In addition to the otters, the park is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including deer, raccoons, and squirrels. With a little luck, you may also catch a glimpse of elusive creatures like bobcats or coyotes.
As you paddle around the islands, keep an eye out for the park's birdlife. Eagles, ospreys, herons, and egrets are just a few of the majestic birds that you may see soaring overhead. The waters themselves are also teeming with life, from large schools of fish that swim beneath your kayak to turtles sunning themselves on the banks.
The islands that you paddle around during this experience are also a sight to behold. Covered in lush greenery, these small pieces of land provide a peaceful refuge for wildlife and add to the park's natural beauty. As you paddle around them, you can appreciate the unique ecosystem that exists in this area and marvel at the wonders of nature.
Overall, a sunset wildlife paddle at Ray Roberts Johnson Branch Park is an unforgettable experience that showcases the best of what nature has to offer. With a wealth of wildlife, stunning scenery, and the peacefulness of the setting sun, it's an experience that should be on every nature lover's bucket list.
