About

The name speaks for itself! These tours are generally extreme in either length, technical difficulty, physical exertion or a combination of factors. Taking anywhere from up to 10 hours hours, our Over the Top Adventures are simply unreal. We guide you to places of epic beauty that take considerable effort to reach; and the reward is well worth it. Many of these adventures are off trail, through overgrown jungle, and sometimes follow hunting tracks or other routes that are on unmaintained surfaces. These hikes are strenuous to extreme difficulty and often require that our guests have extensive hiking experience and a general sense of ease, safety and well-being in remote places. Whether you choose to explore the Na Pali Coast, Alakai Swamp, Waimea Canyon, or some of Kauai’s less easily visited waterfalls and interior mountain areas, an Over the Top Kauai Adventure is the kind of experience you will remember for a lifetime!

Lunch Recommendations for Waimea Canyon & Kōkeʻe SP (lunch is not provided, please consult your guide regarding lunch suggestions for tours to other parts of the island):

1) If you don't want to deal with packing a lunch, we can eat at the lodge in Kōkeʻe State Park - it's up the hill near where we will be hiking and features great food & "mountain lodge ambiance". Your guide can time it, so you stop there between hikes/overlook stops.

2) Order breakfast and/or lunch items to go from the local Midnight Bear Breads in Hanapepe (3830 Hanapepe Rd., Hanapepe, HI 96716 (just down the street from our meeting location, unless you are staying on the West Side) - they are open 8 am - 3 pm Mon, Weds and Sat, and from 9 am - 3 pm Thursday and are locally owned & operated: Click HERE for their menu/to order online in advance or call 808-335-2893 (they recommend ordering the night before to ensure availability of baked goods. No fresh bread available on Thursdays).

3) Ask your guide to make a quick stop at a local supermarket along the way (for you to pick something up), or pack a lunch before your tour.

Note: We are not associated with any of the establishments listed above and receive no compensation from them. We support them as they are local businesses that source local ingredients whenever possible.
