Min Age: 16
Description: Get ready for a full-day adventure that blends the best of land and water! Join Emma from the WOW Wilderness team as we explore the Walpole Wilderness by mountain bike and packraft, taking in the incredible landscapes from two unique perspectives.
The Adventure Begins: Pedalling Through the Giants
We kick off the day at The Giants Trail Head at the Valley of the Giants, where we’ll get our gear sorted and buckle up our helmets, ready to set off on a 13 km mountain bike ride through the ancient tingle forest. Winding beneath the towering trees, this ride is an amazing and fun filled way to experience this unique landscape.
From Trail to Water: Paddling the Frankland River
Our ride leads us to the waters of the Frankland River, Kwakoorillup – the place of the Quokka, where we’ll pause for lunch by the river’s edge. After refueling, we swap pedals for paddles, inflating our packrafts and taking to the water to paddle 2.5 km to Monastery Landing - a place imbued in history and quite magic - where the fight to protect this extraordinary wilderness first began.
A Perfect Ending
As we paddle up to Monastery Landing, we take a moment to soak in the sounds, sights and scents of the forest. To cap off the day, we’ll cheers with a local beverage, and of course a few cheeky snacks, reflecting on a day filled with wonder, connection and adventure.
