Back Country Adventure on the Alpine Plateau

We are an outdoor rental company providing Polaris side-by-side and snowmobile rentals for adventures in the back-country of the Colorado Mountains. Located at an elevation of 9500 feet and just outside of the North East Corner of the Uncompahgre National Forrest there is no trailer required. Explore the trails that surround us off the Alpine Plateau, where you find some of the best views of the Colorado San Juan Mountains.

Bring your driver’s license!

Each vehicle must have a waiver attached to a unique user, so if you are renting 2 machines, two waivers must be completed by two different individuals with a driver’s license.

Rider Requirements

-All drivers of vehicles are required to be 18+ years of age with a valid driver’s license. Unless otherwise stated.
-All passengers must be able to grasp handhold with their hands and plant feet firmly on the ground. No child seats are allowed.
-Helmets and eye protection are always required to be worn when the vehicle is being operated.

Before you arrive:

Please go to https://waivers.poladv.com/amiemtnadv to fill out our online waiver. This will expedite our check-out process and get you out on your adventure sooner. Each vehicle must have a waiver attached to a unique user, so if you are renting 2 machines, please fill out two waivers, by two different individuals. Each person who fills out our online waiver must bring their driver’s license

Arrive early to fill out waivers, pick up helmets and goggles! If your vehicle is ready, you can take it up to an hour early. We are open from 8 am to 6 pm.

What you get with your rental:

• Every participant will be given a rental helmet and goggles. You may bring your own DOT-approved helmet and goggles. Every participant must wear a helmet and goggles.

• A full tank of gas – do not bring it back filled with gas.
  For multi-day rentals your first tank is included in the price of the rental, after that, you may purchase additional gas at our Adventure Center.

• An emergency beacon

What to Bring:

Side-by-Sides

• Guests are recommended to wear closed-toe shoes, and long shirts and pants for a safe, comfortable ride.

• A neck gaiter or bandana is also recommended for dust, to wear beneath your helmet (helmet and goggles are always provided.)

• Bring extra layers like a lightweight jacket or sweatshirt in case of weather changes.

• Feel free to bring along a backpack and or cooler with water, snacks, bug spray, and sunscreen.

What you can purchase at our facility:

We carry a small selection of snacks and drinks you may purchase for your adventure as well as a gear shop where you can purchase anything you may have forgotten or need.

Stay at Arrowhead Mountain Lodge

Next to Arrowhead Mountain Adventures is Arrowhead Mountain Lodge, a 12 room lodge with a full-service restaurant and a small general store. Pick up a sack lunch and drinks for your ride, hang out for some Après-Ride snacks, and book a room. Use this link for a special Arrowhead Adventures room rate
