Description: Embark on a captivating journey with our beginner-friendly guided kayak tour to Popoia or Flat Island, just a 15-minute paddle from the stunning Kailua Beach. Let our expert guides welcome you into our Ohana as they lead you to Oahu's smallest off-shore island, where encounters with sea turtles and vibrant fish await – whether from the comfort of your kayak or through snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters. As you paddle, soak in breathtaking views of Kailua Bay and the picturesque Kailua Beach. Upon reaching Popoia Island bird sanctuary, step ashore to explore its perimeter on foot. This guided kayak adventure not only promises unforgettable experiences but also includes plenty of snacks and water, making it an ideal choice for families with children aged 8 and older. Full day option includes access to beach gear to enjoy at the beach. Join us for a day of exploration, connection, and beautiful Hawaiian wildlife.
What is Included: Get set for an epic adventure to Popoia Island in Kailua! We provide all of the gear necessary to make for an epic day. Included in your tour are kayak rentals, life vests, dry bags, snorkeling gear, water, and snacks to satisfy any hunger that the day of adventuring brings. Please let us know ahead of time if there are any dietary restrictions.
What is not Included: Please bring reef-safe sunscreen, sunglasses, towels, and shoes that are suitable for both hiking and water activities. If you do not have or have forgotten any of these items on the day of the tour, do not worry as we have them available for purchase at our storefront.

Itinerary: Your expert guide will point out turtles, monk seals, many colorful fish and marine life during your kayak adventure. Once at your destination you will take a short 30 minute guided nature walk around the island learning about one of Oahu’s smallest off-shore islets.

Check in Details: Please meet at the Kailua Storefront to check-in 30 minutes before your tour starts. Here you’ll meet your guide and receive a safety demo, description of the route, kayaking lessons, and a brief cultural history. From there we will guide you through strapping your kayak to your 4-door vehicle and provide you with all the necessary equipment for a day full of fun! Transport the equipment easily from the meeting place (134B Hamakua Dr., Kailua, HI, 96734) to Kailua Beach using special foam pads and straps for your car. The Tandem Kayaks fit one or two people and include life vests, seat backs, and paddles.

Special Requirements: Children under 13 will need to book a private trip
