What to Expect:
You’re standing on what feels like the top of the world as a surreal landscape engulfs you. Here, at the top of the Kilauea volcano, a patchwork of jagged rocks, boulders, and craggy outcroppings are the result of ancient volcanic eruptions. Renowned scientists and scholars have stood in your footsteps before, studying this active volcano said to be governed by the Hawaiian Goddess of fire, Pele. It is a humbling experience that fills you with a deep sense of respect for the power and unpredictability of nature. This is the heart of Hawaiʻi — its volcanoes — and you are feeling its pulse in the company of your small group of friends or family for a memory that will last a lifetime.

What to Wear:
Weather can change dramatically from hot and humid to cool and wet conditions. Sunscreen and/or bug spray should be applied well before joining the tour.
- Required - Close-toed footwear.
- A hat and sunglasses are optional but highly recommended.
- Light jacket and/or long pants.

Cancellation Policy
With Trip Cancellation Protection: Cancel or reschedule any time up to 1 hour before departure. Receive a full refund, minus trip protection and processing fees.
Without Trip Cancellation Protection: For Public Tour: Cancel or reschedule up to 48 hours before departure to avoid fees. No refunds within 48 hours, but rescheduling may be possible. For Private Tour: Cancel or reschedule up to 72 hours before departure to avoid fees. No refunds within 72 hours, but rescheduling may be possible.
Weather & Park Closures
Kailani Tours Hawaii is committed to providing five-star service to all guests.
Tours operate rain or shine; itineraries may adjust for severe weather or park closures.
Park access may be restricted during events like lava flows or eruptions without notice.
No partial refunds for affected tour parts, but we'll ensure you have a great experience regardless.
Tour Minimum
A combined minimum of 6 guests is required for a tour to operate. Should a tour not meet the tour minimum, customers will have the option to reschedule or receive a full refund. Advance notice will be provided at least 12 hours before the start time.
