Paddle the majestic Wailua River, home to first Hawaiians 1500 years ago. Learn about the history, flora & fauna from the best 'local' guides on the river. Kayak, hike, and eat lunch Hawaiian style.
Ancient River Kayak offers a 5-6 hours kayaking and hiking adventure suitable for ages 5 to 75.
It's an adventure suitable for the entire family, as well as a single guest.
Lunch Options
- Turkey: Turkey on buttermilk bread, provolone cheese, romaine lettuce and cucumber.
- Ham & Cheese: Ham & American cheese on buttermilk bread, romaine lettuce and cucumber.
- Veggie: Buttermilk bread, American cheese, bell peppers, avocado, and romaine lettuce.

LOCATION:
440 Aleka Place, Kapaa, Hawaii, 96746. We're located behind Coconut Marketplace in the Islander on the Beach Hotel parking area next to Johnny'z Wingz N Tingz. You can check in at Snorkel Depot.
WHAT TO BRING:
• Comfortable shoes (hiking sandals, hiking boots) - No Flip Flops, No Crocs
• Light, comfortable clothing, with a swimsuit under your clothing
• Towel, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, bug repellant
• Camera and your sense of adventure (Each kayak has a watertight drybag.)
WE PROVIDE:
• Ocean Zest Double Kayaks with supportive seats, lightweight aluminum paddles and children’s paddles.
• Each kayak has life jackets and drybag backpack. We do offer one single kayak for people traveling alone.
• Deli lunch & bottled water. Choose from turkey, ham, or vegetarian sandwiches. Chips and pineapple are prepared by your guide.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Participants should be comfortable in the water, enjoy hiking and be in good physical condition. Expect 4 miles of paddling and 2 miles of hiking. Trail conditions can be muddy and slippery at times.
• No bad knees, or bad backs
• Tour time clocks at 5-6 hours, depending on the pace of the group.
PREGNANCY:
• We are not accepting any pregnancies at this time.
WEATHER:
• Tours go out, rain or shine. In the event of extreme inclement weather, tours will be re-scheduled.
Cancellation Policy
24-hour notice is required for cancellation; 72 hours notice is required for groups of 6 or more passengers. 100% penalty charge strictly enforced.
