The Self-Guided Tour is designed for the independent adventurer looking for new discoveries in Kailua’s unspoiled, pristine waters and beaches. This tour proves a great value for a full day activity in Hawaii!
Tour Details
Reef-protected Kailua Bay provides a safe environment for the beginner paddler and advanced paddler alike. A comprehensive video briefing, weather updates, and instructions given by our experienced staff prepare our guests for a unique day in Kailua Bay. Not far down the beach from Flat Island is a spot inhabited by the protected Green Sea Turtles. There are often several encounters on each trip. Green Sea Turtles are a threatened species, and seeing them is a very special experience. Snorkel gear is provided to explore the Kailua coral heads. Visit your choice of several offshore islands, sanctuaries and beaches and find solitude exploring at your own pace. Find a spot to eat lunch (included in the price!) and take a swim or snorkel at your leisure. Afterwards there is time to head out for some fun in the surf. Boogie-boarding is a favorite at the North end of the beach where the shore break forms a perfect wave.

- Lunch. Guests can choose from pizza and calzones, Hawaiian plate lunches, sandwiches, or salads. Our pizza and calzones are made to order in the Beach Center at Bob’s Pizzeria. Our plate lunches are made to order at K&K BBQ where guests will find inside and outside seating. Lanikai General Store provides picnic lunch options including sandwiches and wraps, and salads are available at Aloha Salads in Kailua Town.

What should guests bring? (We have these items available at a special discount in our shop)
Get ready to get wet:
• Swimsuits: guests should wear their swimsuits under their clothes at time of pick-up.
• Water: we are eco-friendly so feel free to bring a reusable water bottle. You will be able to fill it with fresh water at check-in.
• Sun block: we recommend SPF 30 or greater.
• Shoes: slippers (i.e. flip flops, thongs, etc.) are OK, but water shoes or sandals are better for walking around the sharp, rocky islands.
• During the winter months, bring a long sleeve shirt, light jacket or rain jacket.
• Camera: bring a waterproof camera. Options to purchase a a dry-pack cell phone pouch are available upon arrival. Dry bags for digital cameras or camera phones are also included with the package.
• Dry change of clothes and towel for showering after the trip (customers must be in dry clothes for return transportation).
• Cash/Credit Cards: we provide free lockers for valuables. Our shop carries many of the above items and last minute add-ons for the trip as well as one-of-a-kind souvenirs.
Kayaking is a physical activity that does require a moderate level of fitness. Deliveries to/from Kailua Beach Park are not permitted. You must transport them via cart to the beach (5-10 min walk). Please follow our guidelines on how to center the kayaks on the carts and you will find carrying them very easy!
Our Pro-shop also carries a complete line of beach wear and beach items such as sunglasses, sunglass holders, rash guards with 100% UV protection and waterproof cameras. Guests will receive 15% off all retail when they join one of our tours.

Cancellation Policy

Outside of 48 Hours of your Activity:

Cancellations are eligible for a 100% refund.

Tours may be rescheduled unlimited times.
Within 48 Hours of your Activity:

Cancellations will incur a full charge or a $25/Person fee to reschedule (unless you have purchased Trip Protection.)

Tours may be rescheduled unlimited times at the $25 fee each time but will no longer be eligible for refunds.

Groups consisting of 14 participants or more and/or customized activity packages require 7 days notice of cancellation to avoid a 50% charge and may incur additional fees based upon arrangements.
All contentions will be handled on a case-by-case basis by the management. If you have any questions or concerns with this information, contact the manager before booking.
