Begin your journey at Battery Park, where Castle Clinton once served as the nation’s first immigration station. Board the ferry and take in breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline before stepping onto Liberty Island. Stand in the shadow of Lady Liberty and learn the story behind this colossal gift from France, from its epic construction to its powerful symbolism.
Continue to Ellis Island, the gateway through which over 12 million immigrants entered the United States. Walk in their footsteps through the Great Hall, where hopeful newcomers were processed, and hear personal stories of struggle, perseverance, and triumph. Explore the moving exhibits at the Immigration Museum and visit the American Immigrant Wall of Honor, where families have inscribed their ancestors’ names in tribute.
