More about this on-demand virtual talk and tour includes a pdf of the photo stops for you to visit on your Own:
Central Park is larger than most people realize, covering 843 acres of man-made landscape. It’s truly hand-crafted art combing rolling hills, lush lawns, winding footpaths, ornamental trees, seven bodies of water including places to play, picnic and relax. It’s the fifth most interesting bird watching location in America! The history of New York’s backyard is fascinating with politics, financing and conservancy all working together to create an escape from the congestion of the City. Discover the secrets of Central Park as we tour the site together starting at the southern border along Central Park South and exploring each site until we reach the northern edge along 110th Street. Hear the fascinating stories at each stop along the way. Some sites were in the original design and others have been added later. Some sites have disappeared and been replaced. This fascinating visual journey looks at the park as it developed over the past 150 years. You’ll know what was there, why was it removed and when. You’ll see the major concert and movie sites, and locations of the special events that have taken place. Some will be new to you and others will be a walk down memory lane. At the end of this journey you will be able to plan your visit to Central Park and spend time seeing the sites in person.
This 101-minute presentation uses over 100 images taking you on an in-depth visual journey through the history of Central Park, who created it and why. Then, we'll explore the park virtually from the southern to northern edges stopping along the way to see the most important and famous sites.
